Today I'm dedicating this image to my dear Flickr friend Adell otherwise known as "sunsinger" here on Flickr. She is an amazing photographer and a dear heart. Do yourself a favor and take a look at her stream...it's magical. She wrote my 2nd testimonial and I'm honored.
I also used the title "Imagine" to celebrate the life of John Lennon who was taken from us 30 years today...
This is part of a barn series I'm creating for prints to hang in a gallery at a local dentist office. I was inspired by Linda MPH and her texture work. The textures I used are from
Happy Wednesday my friends and once again, thank you for your kind and fun comments. I look forward to connecting with each of you every day!
I was recently re-aquainting myself with the work of Carlos Castaneda after reading Joseph Chilton Pearce's analysis of the Yaqui Indians' "Way of the Warrior" as embodied and taught by the infamous Don Jan Matus and the magical, fantastical Don Genaro. I've had this image around for a while waiting for a title and concept to strike me and while reading Pearce I finally found it. I think the Castaneda reference fits.
You can imagine this house to be either Don Juan's or Don Genaro's, seen in a vision that might have occurred to Castaneda during his apprenticeship.
Music Link: Michael Stearns and Ron Sunsinger, "Journey to the Underworld ", from their album "Sorceror", a tribute to the work of Carlos Castaneda.

My last picture for 2009.
I wish the shadow of joy never leaves you in 2010 and in all the years to come=)
Love to all.
Special thanks to Adell for a lovely testimonial.

Testing out my new 5th generation iPod camera. I think it looks pretty good so far. Also, I'll more than likely be picking up destiny for ps4 closer to Christmas time.

So many funny thoughts ran through my mind as I looked at these photos. Please, understand, that I mean absolutely NO disrespect to the photographers. Your photos are wonderful! Maybe it’s just MY mind, but I’m guessing most of you have an incredible sense of humor too.
#1: Ok, this guy looks like a young Bing Crosby, but I thought “who the heck thought this ad would sell product?” Why would this ad sell Cokes? Aussie cowboy hat, maybe, but why would this entice me to buy Coke? Perhaps I’ll hop like a kangaroo or something. I dunno. But, heck – it was 194-something and I wasn’t even born yet.
#2: This one just cracked me up. Funny photo title. (of course I WAS alive back before they made bottles that opened by hand.)
#3: Coca-Cola Coffin - Yes, that’s right! And, by reading the text below the photo it sounds like this one is FOR REAL! What a world we live in! Hey buddy – ever think that it might have been drinking too much Coke that killed ya?
#4: The Coke can with legs. The mosaic maker cut off the bottom of the legs and feet – so I hope you check out the original photo. When I first saw the picture, I thought that it was of some poor person that had a job walking around dressed as a Coke can. But, no, it’s actually a toy. Phew!
#5: Coca-Cola is the Answer. Now, look at the guy handing the woman the coke. Is he not wearing a white doctor’s coat? The only thing that would have made this ad better for me would be if he had a cigarette hanging out of his mouth.
#6: Coca-Cola curtains. I have one word for this one - why?
#7: hip-hop bailey coke – silly dog!
#8: The pope and coca cola – Yes, that’s right! One stop shopping! And this is located near St. Peter’s Basillica, too boot!
#9: Coca-cola-4 pc -- This one made me go HUH??? What do cooking utensils have to do with Coke? I don’t get it, but evidently it’s a hot selling item. Hmmmm, maybe one of my kids would like this for Xmas.
#10: Coke massacre – Ok, I laughed AND I cried! (I’m a Diet Pepsi drinker)
#11: Coca Cola pinhole camera – Excuse me? Does this belong to Maxwell Smart?
#12: Open Sunset, Insert Coke Bottle – Ahhh, I do love my coke – “My sweet, darling coke. Let us go watch the setting sun together. I promise I’ll try to keep my lips to myself”
#13: remember way back when……yeah, I do! Why did we ever think this was so much fun? Certainly we didn’t have the numbers of toys that kids today have – but really!!! Oh well, it beats TP on the shoe.
#14: I’ve tried my best to let go of you…..I feel your pain (only with Diet Pepsi or Fresca)
#15: Coke Hat – It’s a beanie….it’s a crown…..hey, it’s not pretty!
#16: Coca Cola – Psssst…..your box is upside-down!. Maybe Engrish.com should make a T-shirt of this photo.
#17: Vintage Coca-Cola Sign – Rx Drugs and Coca Cola -- Ahhh..those were the days!
#18: Coca-Cola Bear – Ok, this photo was of something nice – a Children’s Giving Parade. However, when I first saw the photo it looked like the Coke bear was marching on the Capitol building or a State House and I wondered, “what’s THAT protest about?”
#19: A true fan! -- I’ve got to say that I didn’t think anyone ever really wore those in public!
#20: Broken Coca-Cola Bottle with top – Don’t know your own strength, huh? Cracked me up.The caption says: “I applied an Orton effect in the Gimp.” Now what ever does THAT mean?
#21: Coca-Cola Cool Recipies Coke Cookbook --- Be Afraid! Be VERY Afraid!
#22: Sprite surrounded by Coca-Cola – Who ever does your decorating? Sweet dreams!
#23: The “Coca Cola Slim CAN” telephone -- Ok. I’ve got my Coca Cola Slim Can telephone on my bedside table. I’m hanging out, chilling in my room, watching a movie and drinking a Coke. All of a sudden, the phone rings….it’s an intense moment of the movie and I’m only half paying attention as I reach over to pick up the p hone and…. Oh #*$(# I grabbed the soda can NOT the phone! ARGH!!!! (Yes, this all flashed in my mind in a moment as I looked at this photo.)
#24: Coca Cola Purse – The Ultimate Re-Use Green Award goes to this girl! Clearly it’s a well used bag (note the dings and dents).
#25: The dancing Coca-Cola! -- too cool for words
#26: Out to Lunch – Yes, the dogs ARE lucky – they’re under the darn umbrella out of the sun!
#27: Coke Bottle with a hat – I really have no words – it just makes me laugh every time I look at it.
#28: Coca Cola – Feels like a close encounter of the coke kind to me!
#29: Coca Cola Wagon – For selling Coke to the frontier back in the day…..
#30: Giant Coca-Cola bottle -- Uh, someone thought this was a good idea? It’s ugly and looks like a giant sand sculpture (which would be cool).
#31: Coca-Cola Love – Coca Cola -- Love -- England --- HEY, why them? And what’s this sign REALLY about? Does Coke love England? Or does England love Coke? Maybe they love each other?
#32: The Coke decorator strikes again!!!
#33: Coca-cola Viennese – The driver gets a little coke bottle painted on the car with every delivery….Hmmmm….I don’t know if I’d consider it a perk to have this as a company car, though.
#34: Just in case one table and 2 coke chairs aren’t enough……the family size set.
#35: Coca-Cola Santa Ornament – Very cute. But, notice the little dog. How he sits and earnestly looks up at that bottle of coke. Can’t you just imagine that stubby little tail wagging?
#36: Kids are smiling at Coke younger and younger these days. Hey, maybe it’s the same guy holding the cup of Coke who trained the dog in # 34?
Thank you for all the smiles, chuckes, laughs and befuddled “what the hecks?” I had looking at these photos. It’s been a fun way to pass an evening while awaiting the time for me to pick my 3 kids up at the airport (flight delayed).

That's me in the corner shooting the shadow of the "Sun Singer", a 16 foot Art Moderne sculpture by Carl Milles. The sculpture is located in Allerton Park near Monticello, Illinois.
Solsångaren (The Sunsinger) in Gamla stan (Strömparterren ).
Carl Milles was commissioned to create a memorial to Esaias Tegnér in 1919. Though the commission had only called for a bust of the poet, Milles was uninterested in a realistic depiction, wanting instead to illustrate the creative power of the man. The sculptor took his inspiration from two lines of a Tegnér poem: "To you I sing a song, to you, oh radiant sun." Carl Milles transformed Tegnér into a naked, beautiful youth who, standing on a high granite base facing the water, stretches his arms towards the sun and sings his celebration of the glowing orb.
Unveiled in 1925, the sculpture drew criticism for its design. The Sun Singer did not satisfy expectations of a decent memorial to Tegnér – some preferred to see him dressed. But in spite of these critical voices, the work received spontaneous, admiring applause at the unveiling from the large number of people gathered on the shore, on Norrbro bridge and on the quays below the Opera.
There is a copy of The Sunsinger at Allerton Park, Monticello, Illinois.
This was a practice in Photoshop but I liked the results enough to share it with Flickr. This is the Sun Singer Statue in Allerton Park near Monticello IL. It faces East to greet the sunrise and is a turquoise color normally. Comments welcome. I don't know if I like it enough to keep it on here long.

My only female character, I used Sunsinger as my main warlock class until recently when bungie nerfed it into the ground, so void-lock it is, although there is nothing more fun than the stormcallers pulsewave and reaper medals galore.
Located in Southern New Mexico. I have compiled a Flickr set called "Fort Bayard". I will be adding more photos as time goes by. I have fallen in love with the area's history and am fortunate to be living in the midst of all this beauty and historical setting. The set includes photographs that I have enhanced to interpret my vision of what I see and feel when I visit Fort Bayard.
www.flickr.com/photos/sunsinger/sets/72157624860421057/wi...
In the distance is a view of part of the Fort Bayard grounds. You can see the old water tower and the National Cemetery. I think the building is the old nurses quarters, however I have to find out for sure on that.
The path in the foreground, which I was hiking on, is part of the Elk Refuge which is adjacent to the fort grounds. The Elk Refuge has wonderful trails and is a popular place for hikers. Ancient petroglyphs and pottery shards can be discovered here. There are bears, coyotes, deer, cougars, javelinas, antelope and elk in the area.
My Warlock, just started the Sunsinger subclass training, I want self revive! Not having as much fun with this guy as I am the Titan, but he's still cool. The whole glide feature is weird....
Full rare gear on him too..This is all Tengu Operant stuff from the Crytarch and blues from my main character.

Every January 16th is “Narayan’s Nirvana”, the day my beloved husband dropped his mortal shell and became One with the Great Heart. I didn’t know how I would honor him this year so one of my new Flickr friends, wrote a comment on my previous New Years post of playing Narayan’s electric guitar for the first time in over 12 years. It was an emotional experience because the sound of the amplifier was such a trigger for me and to touch the strings that he touched all those years ago sent waves of feeling through me. I couldn’t quite articulate so what she wrote moved me deeply …
“That music echoes still you know. Those cords struck, that you sent out together have pulsed and sent out waves of energy that transforms into new forms and keeps on moving. And where you are now is in that flow of vibration, and you have opened it up…."
Like a child of Eternity our vibration together lives on.
Thank-you Sunsinger. www.flickr.com/photos/sunsinger/4278253347/

My dad and Berra and I went to France for three weeks in 2000. My dad was a passionate francophile, probably because he was also a serious wine connoisseur.
So, here they are at Rocamadour. From the Lonely Planet Guide to France: "Perched on a 150m-high cliff face above the River Alzou, the old city...was, from the 12th to 14th centuries, an important stop on one of the pilgrimage routes to Santiago de Compostela." This was a brief moment when it wasn't raining. So much for traveling with the Weather Wizard!
After we came back, Terra started studying French as an eighth grader at the Albuquerque Academy. She became, according to some, the best French student the Academy ever produced. She spent her third year of college at the University of Lyon, and is thinking of going back there for graduate school in Public Policy.
What Sunsinger said about "I am the you that goes on" inspired me to share this image with you today, the second anniversary of my dad's flight to another realm.
This image was scanned from a 4x6 photo (probably fujifilm-iso200 and processed at Walmart) I took with our shared, heavily used--over three decades--Minolta X-9. Then corrected in Adobe Camera Raw, of all places. Yes, Virginia, you CAN do it!
Now that I can really see this image, I can see that I focused on the wall behind them. OOoops!

Leiutenant Starfexer and Corporal Sunsinger of the Royal Storm Corps of UNDOE (United Nations Defense Of Earth).
It is 2075, seven years after the nuclear war that destroyed civillisation. Many countries resorted to communism to survive. These countries were the Reformed Soviet Union, China,Taiwan and most Islamic nations as well as small parts elsewhere. This new alliance, Allied Communists of Earth (ACE), was taken over by a dictator called Sergei Krukov and his counterpart, Wong Lee. Krukov and Wong took what little the civillians had left and lived a life of comfort even in these times. As most of Earth's supplies are now gone, ACE have attempted to infiltrate the now UNDOE owned ex-Soviet base in Antarctica, Bellingshausen. Bellingshausen is the most polluted place in Antarctica, litter and old remains of the Soviet base are everywhere. However, Bellingshausen is a great source of oil and UNDOE have been present for over seventeen years. Protected by the Royal Storm Corps, ACE don't stand a chance!
