This is a 20 second exposure of Sunset cliffs, looking Soutn. Sunset Cliffs Natural Park is a city park that extends out on the Point Loma peninsula and is a great place to get pictures of a unique coastal landscape. Sunset Cliffs Natural Park has a gorgeous, 3-mile family-friendly hike along the shoreline, as well as access to coastal paddling.

This wave was not my friend. I took the bullet for my camera a couple of times this night, but this wave got the best of me.

Had a chance to get to the Sunset Cliffs area of San Diego last night...the marine layer had thickened so there wasn't alot of color - and the tide was rising had to scurry out of this area to keep from having to swim out....

I have been working a lot and have been hanging out by the river over the past few weeks. It feels good to be back by the ocean and cruising around with my camera.

Sunset Cliffs

Point Loma California

I shot this tonight - February 14, 2020 - at Sunset Cliffs Natural Park in San Diego.

This panoramic image is made from 13 vertical frames shot with a Canon EOS R and Canon 17-40mm f/4L lens.

This has been sitting in the vault for a while. Thought you might like to see something a little different,

I'm excited to release the first photo of my new series, "The Dream Sequince." I've always drawn my inspiration from my surroundings, trying to find my place within nature and capture its grace and beauty within my images.

All of the images in this series border the edge of dream and reality, with models dressed in sequins that reflect their surroundings. Can't wait to keep expanding this idea. :)

My last b&w attempt to end year of 2016, and my first landscape shot with my new camera! I have scouted this place once but never photographed it. During the Christmas break, while grandparents are babysitting the little one, I decided to come here again. The tide was about 2.7ft, and already blocked the path to the beach down below. Initially disappointed, I noticed the foreground was quite interesting despite the lukewarm sky. Not many people were down there on that day so I was able to finish the long exposure. I came back to this place once more after the Christmas, but this time it was packed with people. The tide was lower but the "pool" in the foreground looked drier.

I first read about the sunset cliffs of San Diego completely by accident but once I saw some pictures of the place, me and my wife agreed that this is a place that we need to visit. Since we live close it was just a 2-hour drive and adding to the trip was some of the great sushi places that are home to San Diego. So, we decided to make a day of it. The goal was to start early and make the two-hour drive to get to sunset cliffs well before sunset. Well, it didn’t go according to plans. On a Saturday that we planned the drive down south, there was a huge pileup on 405 and it literally turned into a parking lot while the emergency crews worked on clearing the debris. We lost hours on the road and what seemed like a 2 to 3 hour trip turned out costing us way more time than we previously thought.

The one thing that kept me from going nuts was the promise of a great sunset as the sky that day was full of clouds that every photographer dreams off. Finally, the traffic eased up and allowed us to reach our destination but just as we parked the sun went behind the horizon robbing us of the sunset shot. But there was still a lot of color in the sky and I managed to find some potholes that this location is famous for to use as foreground interest. The interesting thing about this image was that the light completely messed with my camera that day and the auto white balancing was completely thrown off. Thankfully I was shooting raw instead of jpegs and I was able to correct the white balance later. I used a two stop ND grad to get the sky a bit dimmer to match the ground which was darker. I didn’t use a polarizer as I wanted a reflection of the sky in the puddles.

Clontarf Garage based EV 12 basking in the evening sunshine at Howth Summit terminus, home to route 31 & peak time route 31B, which operated via Strand Road.

This is the terminus for routes 31 & 31B, but the start for those about to enjoy a cliff walk around Howth & the spectacular views around the rugged coastlibe of Howth peninsula.

Its better than listening to your partner, Dublin's Q102 radio station.

Sunset Cliffs is an ocean sandstone cliff near Point Loma (San Diego). Most people stroll on the cliffs but a few venture down to the beach and into the sea caves. The caves are spread out along the coast and you may not be able to visit them all in one shot.

Because of the strong waves, the caves are best visited at "low" (0ft) or "super low tide" (-3ft). Even at low tide you may be forced to swim in some spots, so a wetsuit is recommended. Ocean here is rougher than other spots such as La Jolla, so it is imperative to check the forecast and avoid the area unless the sea is calm

Sunset Cliffs - Pt. Loma

San Diego, Ca.

What a fitting name for this location. After doing some real estate shoots today, I decided to head to the coast to shoot the sunset. My original plan was to climb down to the nearby cave and shoot the sunset from inside it (there are a couple of large openings in it), but aftering sizing up the path down there, I figured I likely wouldn't be able to make it back up. I chose to stay up top to shoot the sunset instead. Timelapse video coming later.

One break you’ll find tucked away in the Southern California’s shoreline is called Sunset Cliffs. This spot is a magical haven of hidden caves and glorious little reef peaks that lead to some beautiful sandy lagoons. Sunset Cliffs Beach is a San Diego local’s favorite spot to catch some waves, watch the sunset, and enjoy a beach picnic, just be careful of getting splashed if the swell is pumping!

With over 2 miles long of beach bluffs and panoramic views, Sunset Cliffs produces some glassy barrels when the tide is low and the kelp beds and sandy bottom form the perfect beach break. But sometimes these waves come at a price because let me tell you, walking down to this surf is a journey in itself, part of the reason why this break is so mystical.

Surfer getting ready. Sunset Cliff, California

Taken during my brief trip to San Diego last week. I forgot just how beautiful that area is!

I do not know what I may appear to the world, but to myself I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the sea-shore, and diverting myself in finding a smoother pebble or prettier shell than ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me.

Often when we think of fire, we associate it with destruction. Water, on the other hand, is thought of as the life bringer and rebuilder.

Without water there is no serenity. Without fire there is no passion. Though polar opposites, these elements can not exist without the other. The duality is what brings balance to our lives.

This image was inspired by a combination of the ocean, the songs of Florence and the Machine and the concept of coexisting elements, an idea I've been experimenting with since creating "Burn it Down."

After missing my alarm by nearly two hours, Becka and I finally made it to the beach and were fortunate enough to have the marine layer until 11 a.m....then we got rained out. The ocean is so hauntingly beautiful on days like this.

I've been wanting to attempt the floating candle idea again in the tide pools ever since I created the image "When We Escape" last August. It's amazing to me how both these photographs incorporate the same setting and props, but have entirely different moods.

The sunset attracts a crowd. We were lucky enough to find a parking spot in this little lot. Someone was leaving right as the sun was going down.

We drove over to Sunset Cliffs from Balboa Park just in time to see the sun go down.
