Ross Rock - or "The Rock" as it's best known by the locals - sits off Sunset Cliffs in Ocean Beach in San Diego CA. It has become a kind of soap box for anonymous artists and pranksters, who periodically display a variety of creative structures and/or messages, from Peace Signs to protests signs to . . . whatever. The latest being this 2010 sign, assumed to have been put by Seniors from the 2010 graduating class of Pt. Loma High School, which is located in the area.
Pretty cool.

Always wondered what I was gonna be when I grew up, you know
Always wondered whether or not, whether or not I could make it,
You know, in society, because,
You know, its a drag when youre rejected

I recently bought an IMac and have been editing my photos on it. It's a lot easier to work on a 21.5 inch screen than my 17 inch Macbook Pro. The quality of the IMac screen is also better. Plus, it forces me to work at my desk.
My blacks kept coming out weak and I had washed out colors, I went through last night and found the culprit. I didn't have "Black Point Compensation" checked on my tiff export menu. I had it checked on my Macbook, I must have overlooked it on my IMac.

This is a redo of a beach image I shot last month in San Diego, California. This shot was taken at Sunset Cliffs. Parking is kind of limited but it is an awesome beach.
Here is a website about it:
www.a-zsandiegobeaches.com/sunsetcliffs.htm
Shot with a Pentax K100D, lens used was a manual focus, M42 Helios 44M-7 (Carl Zeiss Biotar Replica). RAW imported in Apple Aperture, fine tuned in Adobe Photoshop.
Once the sun disappeared below the horizon, our attention turned to a lone who gave us a post-sunset show.
Having lived for a couple of months in central European winter weather I begin to fly relish why Hollywood "happened" right there in California. Of course, the perfect weather was't the only reason, but it so nice to remind myself of last years' great days there...
Sunset made this beauty glow .. . t'was light magic. She sat quietly waiting for the sun to begin to set and only then took the guitar from its case and begin to softly serenade some far away love.
Sunset Cliffs at Ocean Beach, San Diego, CA. Processed in LR 5.7 and Topaz Restyle. This shot was taken at noon and I applied one of the Restyle Night presets.

Alana’s Debut is just around the corner and we had the opportunity to photograph her for the big day.
When photographing these images it made me look back at my own children and realized that, when they were born I never thought that they would grow so fast. But they do. Watching them grow is the greatest joy that a parent can ever have. And to have a photo that captures a moment in time, and to hold onto it forever is priceless.
Now I can’t wait to capture Alana’s Debut, and grab more priceless moments!
