I'm always impressed with Cleveland's transit system and light rail. It's one of the few cities in the US where I've traveled with a direct rail connection from the airport to downtown. It runs frequently. Operates on time. Is affordable. And...is usually empty whenever I ride it. It's probably a symptom of CLE's overall decline, but I still think it's a little sad.

Our stage right turntable was sticking in a really bad way, so we needed to raise the structure off the ground a little. To do this we had to raise the entire turntable, and the 1000's of lbs of set, high enough for us to work under.

It turns out that we can shimmy our way into an 11" space, who knew!

Once we were done putting 1/2" shims under each wheel, we had to lower the turntable back onto its center "spike". This was surprisingly easy once I sawzalled the head off the spike.

This is not an exercise anyone wants to repeat.

Wherever they draw the line, somewhere near there.
