Famous for its retro memorabilia and gigantic size, my favorite night market in Bangkok has to be Rot Fai (Train Market), conveniently located near the Thailand Cultural Center MRT. It is split into three sections: everyday clothes and fashion, collectibles, and delicious snacks can all be found in abundance here. This photograph was taken in one of the isles of the market. What's he doing on his phone/tablet... working or playing?
Waverly Restaurant on the corner of Waverly Place and 6th Ave was founded in 1979 by Nick Serafis and is now run by the 2nd-generation family members including his daughter, Angela. We love its neon signage and it’s delicious food including classic diner options as well as some Greek specialties. Today, we stopped by this Greenwich Village old-school diner with our dog Hudson and enjoyed a late lunch in its outdoor seating area. The staff was so friendly and the food we had including homemade minestrone soup grilled cheese sandwich and French fries was delicious. To watch our livestream walk around Greenwich Village in the rain ☔️ today

The storefront for the JustAJar letterpress studio in Marietta, Ohio.
German-speaking Swiss immigrant Jacob Wittlig opened a jewelry store at this address in 1877. His sons and grandson operated the store until 1977. It survived the 1948 flood, which reached the top of the first floor.
JustAJar opened here in 2015. They have some pretty nice stuff in the store and on their website.

Remembering the original location of Cupcake Café at the corner of Ninth Avenue at 39th Street in Hell’s Kitchen, which was founded in 1988 by Ann Warren. . When we first discovered and took this 35mm photo of this bake shop in 2003, we not only loved its handpainted signage but also loved their delicious made-from-scratch buttercream cakes 🍰 and cupcakes decorated with beautiful floral designs.

Electrical Appliance Repair Services in Marine Park, Brooklyn is no longer in business. We loved its #vintage #handpainted #signage as well as all of the other handpainted #signs on the roll-down gate and in the windows. This store definitely harkened back to a time when people had their appliances repaired instead of just throwing them to the curb and buying new ones. Photo from 2009 appears in our newly released book STORE FRONT II- A History Preserved. If anyone is interested in a signed and/or personalized copy of the book for the holidays, please message us or email us seen in the link on our home page.

And all through the town not a creature was stirring......... Downtown Tiskilwa, Illinois on Christmas Eve morning 2015.
On this chilly day in NYC, we are thinking of staying inside and watching a movie 🎥 so our thoughts went to Puerto Plata Video Rental in Brooklyn. We love the #handpainted sign complete with a VCR tape on it. Can anyone guess what year we took this photo?
