Happy 1st Day of Spring!
Been a good hard snowy winter here. I enjoy the 4 seasons in Spokane, each with it 's own blessings and beauty. But Spring and Autumn are most special to me. Happy to enjoy earth's rebirth, returning birds and frolicking wildlife.

Have a wonderful Spring Sunday!
Forgot the full moon tonight! My husband and I scrambled to find our cameras. I also forgot everything I'd ever read about shooting, ahem, the moon.
The Full Worm Moon is the last full moon of the winter and basically signals the start of spring—it's finally here!—which is when temperatures rise and earthworms begin to surface, hence the name. (And a million frogs begin to sing in the back fields!)
This full moon is also a supermoon, meaning it'll be the closest to the Earth at that time than it was the whole month of March.
Full Worm Moon 2019. I'm sure others will do better.
I wish all of you a good spring equinox or fall equinox. I'm grateful we have this day. I take nothing for granted lately.
Being the Spring equinox (well here in the Southern Hemisphere anyway) I thought some florally pastely whimsy might be appropriate. Hit 30C today, yay! Time to start swimming on the beaches instead of just photographing them.
Fun fact about the equinox. As you know it marks the tipping point from days being shorter than nights, to days becoming longer than nights. BUT .., days and nights are equal in length (each 12 h) for the southern hemisphere two or three days before the technical spring equinox and most of Australia sees about 12 h 8 min. of daylight on the spring equinox itself. This is because our atmosphere refracts sunlight so that we can see the Sun just before it's risen in line with the horizon and just after it's passed below the level of the horizon at sunset. Seeing the sun before it rises! Science amazes , and confuses me!
Happy equinox wherever you are in this fascinating world of ours :)
The park is bordered one side by the river Trent. This was taken last wednesday trialing another vintage lens - a Carl Zeiss Pancolar 50mm 1.8 stopped down to possibly f/2 -f4 it wasn't quite so windy and I felt it captured the essence of a spring day but hey ho we shall have to see methinks ;))
Of course being vintage and using manually, although I thought I would remember the f/ stop I took far too many to possibly remember as I usually use these lenses for close macro type photography. I could see the effect the lens was having but of course nothing on the exif to tell me and I took a lot of photos from wide open to f/11 so your guess is as good as mine lol.....
With some very informative feedback from Dejan Dodić I now know this was shot at f/2 because I didn't shoot fully wide open. This is the MC version with six aperture blades...
Heiwa-no-Taki ("Peace Falls"), located in Nishi Ward in western Sapporo, on Vernal Equinox Day. Just at 250 metres elevation, but there is still quite some snow left, while it has largely melted away down in the city.

I'm so glad we planted many Remembrance crocus bulbs in the half barrels last fall. They're the only blooms with the freezing temps and last weekend's harsh winds.
I've never appreciated outdoor flowers as much as I do now. And today starts the spring equinox in the Northern Hemisphere at about 8:50 pm here. Or 11:50 pm EDT.
Please try to stay safe!

For those in the Northern Hemisphere, who are enjoying the rotation of the earth towards the season many enjoy....
Welcome to Spring!!
It's Vernal Equinox Day, and the snow is largely gone in central Sapporo, but there is still a lot left in the higher outskirts of the city. Teine Heiwa Cemetery (Nishi Ward, Sapporo) in the foreground, 1023 metres high Teine-yama (Mount Teine) in the background.

Because even without colors, the spring foliage of Japanese maples looks beautiful. (Last year spring) HSS!
Happy First Day of Spring! 🍃
On/Off - Thank you very much for your visit and comment! I really appreciate it!
Well, the last 'full' day of winter, anyway. Happy equinox to all. And I know I've posted this view recently, but it was so much work getting to the far side of the park (treacherous ice on the path) that I didn't want to waste it.
The Kliban calendar looks like March is the beginning of Spring, on March 20th, and these cats are celebrating.
We're having a fine, cold, rainy, snow in the local mountains, winter and I'm loving it.

"Turn your Face

(Maori Proverb)
On the Vernal or Spring Equinox (20.03.2019) - daytime and nighttime are of approximately equal duration all over the planet.
It is the beginning of #Spring and the sun is shining here in West Wales (Ceredigion). This little tulip bud follows the Maori Proverb and turns its face to the sun. The dew drops are shining like little diamonds to welcome Spring.
😄 Finally, Spring has arrived - Hurray ! 😄

Seems fitting that the first spring flower unfurling looks similar to the full moon rising this evening. I don't know what might have begun to bloom below the daffodil; perhaps a tiny purple thingy.

I asked Gemini to paraphrase Botticelli's "Primavera" in terms of a photographic-like illustration.
On this Spring Equinox Day the first of my tulips blooming in the front garden , in the beautiful sunshine we ve had today :-)
One of my favorite beaches in Muskegon, MI.
I took this with my Galaxy S21, the only camera I had on me at the time. After a few key edits in Snapseed, I imported the image into LR and enhanced the resolution. From there all sorts of things happend :) It is good enough to print! This is such a picturesque beach, despite the fact the pierheads are not particularly noteworthy and there is no actual "lighthouse."
