They say if you are tired of London, you are tired of life....are you tired of London?
Another one from the archives...interesting how things look different after a couple of months on the hard drive....
...to capture completely even with a wide angle lens. Even more impressive when standing right next to it, Vasco da Gama bridge in the north of Lisbon is, at 17 km, Europe's longest.
Loch Coruisk in the Black Cuillins of Sky. April 1981. Split tone isn't my usual style, but somehow I think it works here.

Another one from the archives. ;-)
I did quite a bit of sliding with this, can't remember what exactly.
The "scratches" are rain, actually, but I thought it gave a nice grainy-old-paper-old-photo effect. Hope you think so too. ;-)
Have a wonderful Sunday, everyone.
Happy Sliders Sunday!
This image shows the upper, rotating part of a small, Christmas ornament. Below this there is a tea-light candle, the hot air of which forces the wind-turbine to rotate. Suspended from every other blade of the turbine is a small star-shaped piece of metal. The whole assembly is 75 mm x 75 mm.
The only source of illumination was the single tea-light candle beneath the assembly shown here; this resulted in a 80 second exposure.
Converted to mono in Silver Efex Pro and then split toning applied in Lightroom.
HMM to everyone and many thanks to everyone who views, faves and comments on this image and the others in my photostream.
A collection of screwdriver bits for this week's Macro Mondays 'hand tools' theme. The length of each 'rack' of bits is 5 cm giving an overall image of approximately 7 x 7 cm.
15 images in a focus stack processed in Helicon Focus (option C). Photoshop for dust and speck removal. Lightroom for cropping, split toning and global adjustments. Conversion to mono in Silver Efex Pro.
Many thanks to all who view, fave and comment on this image and the others in my photostream. HMM!

This is another shot taken on Canon 60D with my Lomography X Zenit Petzval lens while playing with focus and bokeh effects, and during a stop through small garden shops and plant nurseries after an afternoon at the beach.
Another in a (very) occasional series - wide angle photos taken on airport travelators. This time at Barcelona's shiny new Terminal 1

Number 264 of my 365 photo challenge - A focus stacked, split-toned, macro image of some tiny mushrooms growing on the damp forest floor.
7 individual images stacked for a greater depth of field without sacrificing bokeh.
I haven't been able to identify these so any help would be appreciated.
Took this one back in spring on a back road between Lancashire and West Yorkshire. Classic changeable British weather produced some nice skies, so I pulled over and grabbed a few shots, as for once I had the camera in the car with me.
Practiced in photoshop working with layers, texture and the smudge tool. It is a cold and foggy morning with no light so I used the flashlight tool on my phone to illuminate these leaves. I also applied dust and scratches. Hope I didn't overdo the processing but just trying to learn as much as I can.
I used www.flickr.com/photos/pinksherbet/3002527423/ by "D Sharon Pruitt" as the texture. It was too small so I copied over some of it. I used the smudge tool to hide the lines where the image overlapped.
Three ball bearings for 'Smile on Saturday' 'Round and Round' theme.
Three bearings placed on a gloss, black floor tile and illuminated with LED lighting. 16 image focus stack processed in Helicon Focus. Conversion to mono in Silver Efex Pro. Dust and speck removal in Photoshop. Split Toning and Sharpening in Lightroom.
Here's wishing you all a very happy weekend.

Did you all know that today is National Do Nothing Day? I'm celebrating by NOT doing laundry. :)

A wave breaks over a partly submerged pipe at the northernmost end of Cramond Island in the Firth of Forth, near Edinburgh, Scotland. This was sunset but the sun was hiding behind the clouds and the whole scene was rendered monomchromatic even before I converted it to B&W in Lightroom!
The three Forth bridges can be seen in the distance
Number 321 of my 365 photo challenge - A split-toned, shallow depth of field, landscape image of an old bench under a tree on a dark and rainy afternoon in Perthshire, Scotland.
This image sums up how I feel about the challenge on days like this. Benched by the weather. Or am I just being unimaginative?
Caught the train down to Kent today, to see my friend Katherine. Had a lovely time hanging out with her, her fiancé and their gorgeous wee daughter. As ever, we spent so much time nattering I failed to take any photos, so took this on my way home through Waterloo East station.
Got home to Tim who had spent the entire day doing stuff for our residents association committee, bless him. I cooked us a big chilli for dinner and we settled down for a nice relaxed evening.
