Sparrowhawk - Accipiter Nisus

Thanks to all who take the time to Comment/fav etc...Appreciated.

A young Sparrowhawk, surveying it's surroundings. I'm cropping quite heavily here, as this bird was some distance away, but I'm quite pleased with the result.

Taken in Norway - Sept 2021.

Accipiter nisus

Christchurch, Cambridgeshire

An occasional visitor to my garden, this guy caught two House Sparrows in the space of about 15 minutes last night just as the light was fading fast. I managed to grab my camera and rattle off a couple of shots before he went on his way again.

As always, thank you so much for stopping by and for leaving any comments or faves, they are very much appreciated.

Sparrowhawk sat posing for me today, was sat on this very same branch for just short of 3 hours.

Giving me great time to observe something I rarely see. Luckily with todays heavy overcast weather I got 2mins of Sunlight that broke though that allowed the lighting to change drastically lighting up the feathers on this beautiful bird and allowing me to shoot base ISO to capture all the detail at its finest.

Many thanks to all who take the time to view, comment or fave my images.

I managed to get alongside this female Sparrowhawk perched on a roadside wall yesterday evening.

I always think it is special when I get to see a bird of prey and when I get this close I get so excited, I managed several images before he/she went in for the kill and I missed the action. never mind I'm still really pleased, as this is a first for me :))

Thank you for taking the time to stop by, your comments or criticism is very much appreciated, take care, stay safe and have a lovely new week 😊

This sparrowhawk caused some panic when it visited the bird table yesterday

Not the nicest view! Was not sure to upload it or not, even felt guilty photographing the scene :/
