I've never seen this contraption around Hong Kong before - design enables it to extend outward and then be bent back in to sit compact beneath the window when not in use. It seems out of place and very modern for the old-style neighbourhood of Cheung Chau.

Again evidence of stackable stools used only when necessary. Also an insight into the dog culture on the islands. The dog get his own seat communicating how important he is to the owner. This can be seen on both Cheung Chau and Peng Chau with some dogs being in prams.
