Another shot from Porth Nanven at the weekend, these are a few of the boulders strewn around wihich have dislodged from the cliff.
As for the shot, i think the colour cast on my Cokin ND helped me get the reds, although there was some colour to be caught and this was a 1/2 minute exposure. Maybe it needed a little longer to get the sea really smooth.
Anyway, I guess I better get going through everyones shots!

I know a photo like this could be anywhere, but it happens to be Tennessee. I'll put it on the map if you're interested. The water did have some ripples in it, but with the long exposure, it's allllll smooooth.

One of the highlights of our Dorset holiday, summer past. I was permitted to hold this Smooth Snake under supervision from a registered handler. The snake had been used earlier in the day for teaching purposes and the Ranger was transporting it in a blanket covered glass tank, about to return it to the wild. Never one to miss an opportunity, I intercepted him and asked what he was carrying, then found myself invited into a shed for a closer look and the chance to handle it briefly. Pity my camera was ill prepared due to this unexpected treat. Mainly the fact I was holding the Snake in one hand and trying to change settings with the other before it was taken from me. I managed to up the ISOs, but didn't have time to put it on Tungsten light setting. Took about 5 shots, which I had to correct later in Picasa to change the lighting as best I could, but happy enough to have recorded the event. The Snake was fine, seemed content to sit curled up in my warm hand for a cosy, not stressed at all.
What a fabulous experience, since it is not permitted to seek these out or touch them without a licence.
2 x Smooth Snakes , very lucky to witness these rare Forest beasts, I guess time of day & weather helped..New Forest.. all pics taken with zoom & Snakes left undisturbed..

Water flowing over rocks at Hooker Falls in the Dupont Forest in NC. I really liked the clarity of the rock beneath the rushing water.
It's getting hot here - supposed to get to almost 100 tomorrow. Yikes! The cool water looks refreshing to me.

Thomisus is a genus of crab spiders (family Thomisidae) with more than 100 species described. The genus includes species that vary widely in their ecology, but the best known crab spiders are those species that people call the flower crab spiders, because they are ambush predators that feed on insects visiting flowers.
The flower crab spiders are the species for which the popular name was coined, because of their crab-like motion and their way of holding their front legs in an attitude reminiscent of a crab spreading its claws as a threat.
The crab spiders are mostly brightly colored, usually matching the color of the flower in which they are waiting in ambush. Not all species are flower-dwelling, but among those that are, at least some species can change their colour over a period of some days to match the flower colour.
** I stumbled upon this tiny crab spider when I was out taking photographs of butterfly. You can check out the two images under my comments to see how it captured the blue glassy butterfly which was way much bigger in size!
Life lesson learnt from nature :
It's not the size that matters :-)
I let the butterfly go and what you see on my main pic is a grumpy spider without dinner !

The sea is like a smooth criminal, its tidal waves sweep in covering everything.................
It is their doom.........
As he came into the window
Was a sound of a crescendo
He came into her apartment
He left the bloodstains on the carpet
She was sitting at the table
He could see she was unable
So she ran into the bedroom
She was struck down
It was her doom
Annie, are you okay, you okay, you okay, Annie?
