It's hard to capture this buiilding in a photograph as it has many twists and crannies, and it's hard even to imagine how they conceived and built such curves in stone without collapse.

I shot this at the Naval Weapons Station in Southern California.... the birds were going bonkers over the smelt.. One bird ate 12 while I was shooting.In addition to being a Navy Base it is also a game preserve. My fave natre spot.

Since these things look so damn noisy, I figured I'd try out Noise Ninja. It's certainly an improvement, but I'm going to try to take better pictures before I spend the cash on NN. :-)

The old iron smelting works date back to Elizabeth I's times. They have been recently improved, though there is still not plaques describing the functions of the works.
