Out and about searching for inspiration and I came across this wall that I thought might be ideal for this months 'challenge' which is shadows. I crouched down to take a shot and after a few seconds this lady walked into the frame. I would have liked a slightly wider view but I would have totally missed the shot.
Because the mushrooms have grown just above the ground, I almost overlooked them. To get an image from this position, I welded a metal bracket in L-shape. This is connected to the camera and ball head, so I come together with the Makro tripod and its movable center column in all corners and edges.

I updated this shape to work with the Lelutka Skyler 2.5 mesh head, as the rigging has been changed and the shape I made with the 1.1 version of Skyler no longer looked good.

This is an image I made on a very slow day of ice fishing on Elevenmile Reservoir around 11am. The light/shadows really gave this scene a three dimensional quality and with the added contrast of a polarizing filter, I knew would be best suited for mono.
My Sony A55 quit working during a timelapse sequence I was shooting... Completely kaput! And I had a headshot session scheduled in two days so I needed a quick fix... sooooo, what better time to upgrade to a new camera?! I purchased the A77 and it was here the next day. I am very impressed with this camera, huge step up from the A55! This is the first image I've made with my new camera and I'm very pleased... expect to see much more though in the coming weeks!
