Mostly for WiC. Most of them have been in scenes already, but the dumpster and wheeled trash bin are new and the generators have never been clearly shown in a scene.

Oh, to note: the brown 3x4 crates look funny to me with two 3x2 plates under the tiles for lids, so I held together the 1x4 tiles with clips instead.

We went to a warehouse sale in New Orleans- everything in there were props or set decorations for scenes in the TV series NCIS: New Orleans! OH WOW! When I read "warehouse," I honestly didn't even get the idea it was a real WAREHOUSE! TONS of cool stuff! Masks required to enter. I bought a number of FUN things, and now I want to start over watching the series to see if I can see them! LOL!

aka the Playhouse Theatre for the amazing production of Cabaret starring Jessie Buckley and Eddie Redmayne. I have never seen a show like it, including other productions of Cabaret. It was just incredible.

Set Dressing for Outlander 3 filmed off the Royal Mile

Fans of the James Bond film Skyfall will recognise this shot from a scene in the film where 007 is chasing after the bad guy in a fictional tube station.

Though on the platforms the fake Temple Station signage and cover-ups have long been removed, as you can see here, one of the signs used to dress the set to make Charing Cross appear as a completely different station on the District and Circle lines still remains (along with an 'Embankment' roundel decal to the left of me, out of shot).

When you can’t get close enough to photograph Tom Holland AKA Peter Parker AKA Spider Man then photographing American trash will have to do 😀 The filming of Spider Man 4, shooting now in St Vincent Street, Glasgow city centre rolls in.😄🎬

The next Avengers movie, Infinity War, is shooting in Scotland, including Edinburgh. I checked out Cockburn Street in the Old Town tonight on my way home from work and they set dressers were preparing the street, changing the fronts of the stores to fictional ones and readying the location for filming (not sure when, heard perhaps tomorrow for actual shooting). I know not a lot to look at as it's the painters and carpenters redressing the store fronts, but still kind of exciting to see the Avengers coming to Edinburgh!! Fingers crossed I get to see some actual filming happening later in the week!!!

There seemed to be some more preparation going on around part of the Royal Mile, with this Pinewood lighting truck parked by the High Courts, and some work being prepped across the road in Parliament Square. Fingers crossed I get to see some actual filming happening later in the week!!!

Insect Week day 3 and we’re back to Ladybirds - which are funny little things. In English they’ve been called ladybird, ladybug, lady beetle, lady clock, lady cow and lady fly. Apparently the name references the fact that the ladybird is red and so was the Virgin Mary’s dress when pictured in the Middle Ages. But that’s not what today’s mural is all about.

Today’s tale is a story as old as time, ladybird loves leaf but unfortunately that love is not reciprocated. An epic chronicle of love, longing, hunger, revenge and everything in between that spans the generations. Imagine Game of Thrones with ladybirds and you’re pretty much there. No one is getting out alive. That’s all I’ve got apart from this lovely mural but you’ve got to admit it would make a good show...

Cheers

Do you really like it? Is it, is it wicked? If the answer isn't 'We're lovin' it, lovin' it, lovin' it. We're lovin' it like that' then please read no further. This post isn't for you...

Christmas has come early here at id-iom HQ and our favourite events company, Elsewhere, are gearing up for Christmas parties. Which is where we come in. This year's tasks are many and varied but here's a little stencil I'll be cutting to be applied to a bit of furniture. I think we can all see where this one is going...

Cheers

NAZI MEGASTRUCTURES: RUSSIA’S WAR

This is the story of Hitler’s war on the Eastern Front – an attempt to liquidate the Russian people and gain living space for his superior Aryan race. It is a conquest that takes the Nazis all the way to the gates of Moscow and back to the heart of Berlin. A war of annihilation that culminates in the collapse of the Third Reich. The series reveals the cunning strategy, defensive megastructures and military technology deployed in this devastating war of brutality between giants.

After a humiliating defeat at Stalingrad, Nazi Germany rallies to turn the war back in their favour. The result is the greatest tank battle in history – Kursk.

Films and TV programmes filmed here include Death Line, Superman IV: The Quest for Peace, Mr Selfridge and 'The Empty Hearse' episode in series three of Sherlock.

"Aldwych is a closed station on the London Underground, located in the City of Westminster in central London. It was opened in 1907 with the name Strand, after the street on which it is located, and was the terminus and only station on the short Piccadilly line branch from Holborn that was a relic of the merger of two railway schemes. The station building is close to the junction of Strand and Surrey Street, near Aldwych. During its lifetime, the branch was the subject of a number of unrealised extension proposals that would have seen the tunnels through the station extended southwards, usually to Waterloo.

"Served by a shuttle train for most of their life and suffering from low passenger numbers, the station and branch were considered for closure several times. A weekday peak hours-only service survived until closure in 1994, when the cost of replacing the lifts was considered too high compared to the income generated.

"Disused parts of the station and the running tunnels were used during both World Wars to shelter artworks from London's public galleries and museums from bombing."

At the Apollo Theatre, following its record-breaking sellout run at the Menier Chocolate Factory. Tom Hollander absolutely should have gotten the Olivier for his lead in this Stoppard revival, if only the steamrolling Harry Potter & the Cursed Child hadn't opened the same year!!
