a bit controversial during my younger days, this fusion of the traje de Mestiza and the decolette Victorian Era gown with crinolines became the aesthetic for this portion of the folkloric ballet

The set was made from sheets of opal polycarbonate that was lightly scored with a router to create a tiled effect which became apparent in certain lighting states. Scene locations included a park, a social service office, a dining hall in an institutional facility and a jazz club.

This set was built for a french commercial. A somewhat glamourized(!) mock-up of the soviet MIR space station (yes, glamourized; the real MIR looked like an old electronics repair-shop's trash can). It was refreshing to not work with this oh-ever-so-clean-over-the-top-Minority-Report-type-technological-minimalism-thing so popular everywhere these days. That future is getting old...
