Self-Reflection
"I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately ..." Henry David Thoreau was a major American philosopher and lived this wish. Thoreau meant to cultivate his mind and communicate directly with nature by living in a cabin near Walden pond. He is our country's early environmentalist. We may not choose a cabin, but we might take a cue from his lifestyle by ridding ourselves of unnecessary belongings and mental baggage. Asian philosophy also speaks of improving our health by encouraging simplicity as well as fostering meditation, perhaps by a small pool or rock garden. You might revise your own environment by adopting some of these ideas.
Will you examine your reflections?

I photographed myself in the window.
Even though there are no reflections anywhere in here... just blagh. I hate self-portraits these days. I cant make them look good. All it is is me sitting here all blarrrgh like and giving no emotion. And, I cant figure out how to make the SB900 work well... I seriously twinked this in Photoshop alot. D:
This is a self portrait seen through the reflection of a metal sculpture at the Museum of Modern Art in Paris.
The third of a new series ... 'self reflection' ... iPhone and Canon 40D combined image ... the first reflection is in a balti bowl after eating a rather good curry!
So I'm going to start using film again with my old Canon A1. This was the camera I used to get my start in photography. I love it.
Photographed my boyfriend's eye using my macro rings on a standard kit lens (18-55mm) - I am reflected in his eye for a self reflection brief.
This picture is Susannah's fault - due to her Unraveling Course I now snap pictures of myself when I catch my reflection somewhere - as in this window of one of the slave quarters at Mount Vernon.
