Fira, Santorini, Greece
Fira was the old port in Santorini. Now it's the center of the Santorini island, which an abundance of restaurants, coffee shops, souvenir shops, and night life.
SANTORINI, GREECE - The magic of Santorini is that there is no where like it on earth and every time you look up you are mesmerized by the views.
We spent a couple days on Santorini as part of a September 2013 trip to Greece.
Most of our first day on the island was spent in OIA walking and taking in the amazingly beautiful sight.
There was a couple in front of this church in wedding attire.

Santorini is one of the Cyclades islands of Greece in the Aegean Sea. It was devastated by a volcanic eruption in the 16th century BC, forever shaping its rugged landscape. The whitewashed, cubiform houses of its 2 principal towns, Fira and Oia, cling to cliffs above an underwater caldera (crater). They overlook the sea, small islands to the west and beaches made up of black, red and white lava pebbles.
As the sun disappeared on my final day in Santorini, the largest moon I've ever seen appeared from the other side of the island. This photo doesn't do it justice, but I love the city lights and silhouette of the island.
