He's finally done! So much happier with his build in every way now, the old version just looks sloppy to my eyes now.

Thanks so much for looking and have a great day!

I'm mainly a minifigure fan but I'll always have a soft spot for the classic Bionicle line from 2001.

One day I felt like reassembling Tahu, but then I realized his old design didn't age that well... his right arm morphed into a sword for some reason, and his left "hand" looked like a plug. He also had no working elbows or knees, even though the old marketing material did a good job making it look like they did.

So I decided to make my own design, fully articulated and posable.

I think it's cool that Lego more or less standardized their character building system, but I didn't think it would work well here. Even though CCBS nailed the structure, most characters end up looking too bulky for my taste, with all those armor plates and all that. A "classic" Toa would need a "Technic" feel, not a modern one.

A re-edit as I felt this photo deserved more than a quick hack on the laptop!

Did I already mention how good B is in front of the camera?

strobist, single Diy Beauty dish high camera right, sunpak powered and v5 triggered.

Still recognize her? I don't blame you if you don't. ;)

I was struggling for quite a while with her, not sure what to do because of the lack of light armors that I was interested in. Until, ironically, the Aesir armor got release, which initially dissapointed me as there is only a heavy version, but luckily I was able to steal some of the custom part and apply these to vanilla light armors, like this, the hide armor with scale boots and bracers. I took the Belt(s), Kitty hood (although not 100% yet) and satchel from the set, they fit really nicely, if somewhat floaty or clipy, but that was to be expected.

Also I specialized her more in being a companion. Note: the black circles underneath the eyes caused by restless nights. Also I went back to vanilla hair. Tordis already uses the pony tail, and it looks horrid in blond. But you know what, no matter how terrble the mesh/texture might be, it simply fits. It looks dirty, greasy and unwashed, which all in all pretty much sums up the companions. Flea shampoo doesn't count.

A Uniter revamp for Kopaka. Took several attempts to get something I was happy with.

The shield gave me particular trouble, but I ended up using the design of Jaller53.

scaled her down and purged all the gold from her color scheme with the exception of as an accent on her claws.

The Leader of Metru Nui, totally trustworthy and is not actually Teridax in disguise after stealing the real Dume, no no.

Hopefully our estimate of 20 tons is correct! 🤔.

The area on the other side of the public path, is strangely ours as well. No more cutting grass on that thank goodness, we've decided on plum coloured slate chippings.

Evo was my first breakout set and he was great, at the time. Now he's just this little guy with one swollen arm. To remedy that, I've completely rebuilt him.

I was inspired by BobtheDoctor27's standardized heroes and wanted to adapt one of my favourites. Credit to him for the blaster and arm gun designs.

I really wanted to retain the color blocking of the original - Grey boots and the asymmetric arms, which I believe I've managed to do. The 2016 Toa torso is my favourite thing to come from G2, It's super easy to adapt and the waist function is just ideal. I will (and have) be making more Hero Factory heroes using this base structure. Iv'e also began jamming tires into every available space, I guess I'm on my way to becoming a true MOCist!

Exile of the Fire Tribe, warrior of the Wastelands, Champion of the Vorox.

A powerful original set with some bold design choices. I’ve always loved the muscle texture on Malum but the height scaling and shoulder pads have always been awkward for me. I tried to correct these while keeping his best features.

Want to see more of Malum? Feel free to check out Way of the Lawless, a chapter book story I wrote over lockdown about his exploits in the Wastelands of Bara Magna!

Elite Skrall warrior equipped with a Thorned Club, Thornax Launcher and heavy armor. One of the most dynamic of the Glatorian builds and a standout from his wave. I took lengths to add more spikes and emphasize the muscles. Also got to fill in some gaps in his chest and strengthen some of my favorite features.

It is said that all good revamps must have a Toa Metru gearbox crotch…

Here is Kiina in a revamped form. I shortened the upper arms slightly and worked to fill out some of the proportions. Also gave her a spear reminiscent of her Vapor Trident’s original form.

Still recognize her? I don't blame you if you don't. ;)

The whole squad’s here, and the six original Toa live once again with bigger, buffer designs! After revamping Tahu, I realized that he'd be pretty lonely without his team. The Bionicle storyline was often about learning to work together, respecting others even if you don't get along, and using your own strength to support others. I'm thinking that my strong sense of loyalty and duty as an adult were partly shaped by the themes and stories I loved as a child.

Chest plate, scarf, and head are removed here to allow for a good shot of the gearbox. His shield-wielding arm is held in place using the same piece the Toa Hagah use.

Xplode was my first HF villain set, and I’ve been wanting to do a revamp of him for quite a while. So once I finished Thonk, I decided to try tackling something a bit smaller, more simple. A nice change of pace.

So of course I almost doubled the amount of spikes and gave him a giant spiky buster sword.

I had considered using a more tame and faithful alternative for his mace-ax-club-sword-thingamajig but I felt like he called for something heavier. Plus I had ordered three extra blade pieces that I didn’t want laying around.

Another change was the beefiness of it all. I kinda liked the idea that Xplode had upgraded himself to take a few more hits. Since the Heroes had gotten more and more powerful, it only made sense that Xplode - one of the best at the whole “Criminal for hire” gig, would have made himself more endurant and powerful to stay competitive.

I did leave his meteor blaster alone, because I feel like that’s the sort of weapon he’d like to be quick and maneuverable. Something you can be quick on the draw with, rather than have a giant cannon to lug around.

Overall this MOC certainly isn’t my best, but it was never meant to be. It’s just a fun little dive back into my childhood, and into some simpler techniques and styles. It was nostalgic, while also refreshing. I’ll definitely be doing more MOC’s like this in the future.

Thank you for checking out my stuff! And have a great day!

This is a creation I’ve been working on for quite some time, ever since the Ziontyro released these glorious custom Kraahkan Kanohi. Almost an entire year in the making!

8593 Makuta has always been a set that was near and dear to my heart, though a figure that was very quickly superseded by larger titan builds. With this revamp, my objective was to restore some of the lost height and articulation, so he can stand tall against the other titans of the BIONICLE line.

The legs in particular draw inspiration from the design of @ibukkey00 while much of the upper body design was created by @fnezj, who gave me many helpful tips during the build process.

Please let me know what you think of this creation with a thoughtful comment below!

Guórén [Ikoma Jinsuke] gets an updated faceup to make the scarring consistent with his female form. I nearly ruined the whole paint job near the end when I dabbed on a little too much acrylic for texturing, but was able to salvage things with a pastel overlay.

I'm thinking that my strong sense of loyalty and duty as an adult were partly shaped by the themes and stories I loved as a child.

When I was young I used to think that using system parts to make bionicle was sacrilege, but with the most recent bionicle GWP we got in 2023, I think using system is fair game. In this revamp of Gali, it’s all using system parts besides her kanohi kaukau and her hooks, which I thought were absolutely essential to include.

I'm getting back into Bionicle since it's returning soon, so this is what I've been working on for the past week or two.

A few things to note about this:

- I realise the upper arms are rather basic, this was because I wanted a decent amount of possibility near the wings for the arms. I might have been able to get around this but I didn't really focus much on that part as they aren't very visible (especially from behind because of the wings).

- The cordak blaster being a bow serves little practical purpose, it's for style more than anything.

I probably need some practise if I'm going to get into Bionicle MOCing, so expect a lot more in the future. They should get better over time.

Beware my cannon tail!

I only made one Nui Jaga. Maybe some day I'll make the blue one.

Some minor tweakage of the 1.0 line

My take on the Space Pirate category.

Earlier this year, I decided to recreate the Hero Factory set Jetbug as a mecha.

The hips are based on this concept by jakobekvall, but use 3D-printed parts. The upper torso is based on ReFrame V2 by Messymaru. The legs are also inspired by his work.

Many elements of the design, like the body, the lower legs, or the shoulder shields are inspired by the Gundam Astaroth Origin.

Here's a sneak preview "under the hood," as it were. I extended Scorpion-Strike's

Ketar Revamp function to run to the tail rather than the head, giving a sort of double-function, bashing the claws together or pulling them apart to strike with the tail.

Also, due to the design of the Crystal addon piece, my claw design snaps open and shut. Seriously, try it (the right one works better). I'm proud of figuring that out. :D

Hey everyone!

We've decided to go back and make a few edits to our old curved torso designs that lacked back printing. These revamps will be adding back printing to all of them or possibly making a few changes. All of these revamps will occur over a span of time rather than all at once, so we will be re-releasing these in between new product releases and they will not all come at once.

For our first update, we decided to add back printing to Sand Blue Midriff Curved Torso (Aayla torso). We will also be releasing it in a variety of colors as well: blue, light flesh, tan, and yellow. As an added bonus, we've also added in an updated version of the head in sand blue, blue, light flesh, yellow and sand green.

We hope you enjoy these updates and Happy Customizing!

Been wanting to bring him over to the standardized revamp family for quite some time now. Was very satisfying to just throw him together one night.

A revamp for the journey doon’ the watter....

Stagecoach West Scotland has revamped the services to Ayr and Kilmarnock, withdrawing some of the Van Hool Astromegas that have characterised the service for many years and replacing them with Plaxton Elites. They’ve also revised the branding as seen here on 54341 (X77SCJ), although when new this coach was registered YX66WOC. Whether it’s an improvement I’ll leave you to consider.
