Actually, the Detroit River. The red is being reflected from a casino just across the way in Windsor, Canada.

 

Yet it kind of struck me as symbolic of the bleeding taking place in Detroit as a result of the economy and its affect on the automobile industry in particular.

 

Here's to a speedy recovery to all those in Detroit.

Refelction of the sky to the calm sea

If you look closely at her right eye, you can see their shadow reflected in it.

Named after the Dutch word for "small sea", the Meer is a large body of water located north of Conservatory Garden and east of the North Woods in Central Park, NYC.

I've seen this done before, so I thought I'd give it a try. I thought it was an interesting way to view the neighborhood out my back door.

The art in a box from yesterday's shot was opened up and installation began. They got about halfway done and should be finished by the end of the weekend if the weather holds.

Today's assignment was "Shutter Speed Priority". This is a shot I have tried - unsuccessfully - a few times. But today I think it worked out as planned. :o)
