Did you have one of these in the 1980s? I didn't, but my cousin did, and I loved playing with it. Now I have my own in Lego form.

I can remember the feel of holding the neck and flying it around, finger on the laser trigger. When you tilted it up, it made an accelerating engine sound and a decelerating sound on the way down. It was definitely one of my favorites.

This LEGO model of the classic Star Bird recreates the main play features:

- A button at the back of the command section lights up the laser blasters in front (via two light bricks).

- The command section can detach and dock with the main engine for a more agile star fighter.

- The two small interceptors can detach from the main section.

- The model is sturdy, built with swooshability in mind."

Welcome to pen keep, a fortress that keeps your pens safe from barbarians and family members.

The Build,

I built a grey medieval castle with tower built on top of a dark grey mountain.

The tower can hold four big pens or seven small pens, and has a tray next to it for holding change or spare pieces.

Apparently 10,000 followers on Instagram is the number you need to be considered an 'Influencer', though I dread the term. I thought the platform was supposed to be a photo-sharing App for creatives.

Anyway I am about to cross that threshold, and, as I did for passing 1,000 followers, my 10,000th follower will be able to pick a car for me to model.

So what?

Apart from selecting the model (which will have some negotiation), I will create design plans so that the selected follower could build their own model. Not only that, the model will also have full instructions created and hosted on Rebrickable.

Many of the people reading this are probably already a follower, but if you have a friend who you'd like to coax into following too, maybe you can persuade them in the selection of the car (so you can build one too).

So share the post if that is your thing, and watch this space. The 10,000 threshold will probably be reached in the next few days.

The Tesla Model S and the BMW Hommage R shown here were the selected cars at previous milestones. The BMW instructions are available on Rebrickable, and the Tesla will be hosted there soon too.

Again the Palisades of both towers can be lowered for display.

Every city needs a school! The build spans among 3 baseplates and consists of 10 modules. The baseplates can be separated from each other for easy transportation. The complete model weighs about 10kg and has 14417 parts.

The front part contains the main entrance, some trees and a bus stop. The roof areas contain the ventilation units, photovoltaics and the clock.

The ground floor contains the main entrance hall with washrooms for boys and girls. The right wing of the ground floor contains a standard classroom for maths and literature. The left wing of the ground floor contains the music classroom, featuring a piano, drums and some other instruments.

The middle floor contains a cafeteria, where the students can get a quick bite and some refreshments. The left wing of the middle floor contains an IT-classroom and it seems the students are well stocked on mobile devices. The right wing of the middle floor contains the science classroom. At the moment some experiments are ongoing in the chemistry class.

The upper floor contains the library.

Well, that Slave I has some weird colors! Not exactly minifig scale, is it? And that isn't even Boba Fett in the cockpit... What is going on?

Yes, I can read minds. But don't the colors and the parts remind you of a certain LEGO set? The A-wing (75003) perhaps?

Indeed, this Slave I is an alternate build of that set. Do you remember that good old days, when Star Wars sets came with alternate models (like the y-wing and tie advanced: you could build tons of things, ranging from a battering ram to a lightsaber! But I'm digressing.)

That's right, all 99 pieces come from the A-wing set. It was quite a hard build. I used up every single plate in the process, and getting some good SNOT done for the 'nose'-area was quite tricky without any real SNOT bricks. But hey, I think I managed quite well.

I was even able to include some play features. Besides details like the guns, some details on the wings and featured motors, the cockpit opens, a minifig can be fitted inside (and rejoice: even Boba can fit in with his helmet and jetpack!), and the wings can be tilted for flight and landing. Not too bad for just an alternate build, I would say.

This model was built for the December alternate build contest at Rebrickable (rebrickable.com/blog/2013/moc-alternate-build-competition...). Sign up and have some fun with alternate builds for yourself. I definetely got hooked. Lost of ideas are boiling in my head.

Thanks for watching. I hope you've enjoyed it. In the unlikely case you're interested in building this model, instructions are available at Rebrickable.

This is my own creation (MOC) of Megumin from the anime "Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!" (KonoSuba: God's Blessing on this Wonderful World!).

I used instructions from LEGOdouMoko as reference for the structure of the head and upper body of this character. Based on their instructions, the head and arms can be rotated.

It's been a while now since I first uploaded the instructions for my First Order LIUV, and I feel as if it's struggling with gaining some publicity. Of course, I could keep posting updates on Instagram but I know for a fact that marketing your own product becomes tedious and repetitive, so I thought I'd reach out to Flickr for any ideas or advice that builders here may have. If you've taken the time out of your day to help, I really appreciate it!

Don't forget, the instructions for my First Order LIUV are available on my Rebrickable, the link is in my bio! They cost roughly $15AUD/$10USD, and include a full parts list. You can find them at rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-31059/MisterShramp/first-order-l... I hope you enjoy them!

"Blue Monday" is a song performed by English rock band New Order. It was released as a 12-inch single on 7 March 1983 through Factory Records.

It is the best-selling 12" single of all time and has huge influence on pop culture to this day (e.g. it is used in Wonder Woman 1984)

The 1983 edition artwork is designed to resemble a 51⁄4 inch floppy disk. This Lego representation is a slightly larger representation of the front (~13" / ~33cm)

The sleeve does not display either the group name nor song title in plain English anywhere. Instead the legend "FAC 73 BLUE MONDAY AND" on the front (and "THE BEACH NEW ORDER" on the back) is represented in code by a series of coloured blocks. The key enabling this to be deciphered was printed on the back sleeve of the album, Power, Corruption & Lies.

The single's original sleeve, created by Factory designer Peter Saville and Brett Wickens, was die-cut with a silver inner sleeve. It cost so much to produce that Factory Records actually lost money on each copy sold.

Fallen Optimus Diorama MOC

This is my latest Lego creation inspired by the diorama “Optimus, The Last Battle” by @gundamike.

When I first saw his diorama, I was baffled by the originality and the skills of this Michael Visser 😍.

Originally, I was planning to make this diorama with the Lego 10302 set, but I later changed this due to unforeseen difficulties.

It was too complex to have working knees and the fact the set is very “sturdy”, it was not easy to weather and mod 😕.

After looking for alternatives, I found the alt build by @ransom_fern. I was able to mod his version, so it would fit the setup I had in mind.

At the end, I decided to also abandon the trees and rocks, as I was past my “3 months span of focus”. This is the moment, when I often loose interest and want to build something new 😉.

Anyway, seeing spring had started and Easter was coming, I decided on a flower bed with white and pink blossoms 🌼.

Please check out other posts on Instagram for comparisons between Original vs. Alternate as well as Alternate vs. Mod.
