This was taken with my mobile phone when we were out walking between Harcombe and Sidbury. The rape fields are only look stunning for a short moment in time.

Bo.

Today there was a Rape march to raise awareness of rape and the victims from this horrific violent act. I heard of this a couple of days before the march was to take place. So today I got my cameras out and rolls of film and presided to the peaceful, organized march through the Auckland CBD. I couldn’t contain myself an took so many photos. I have been editing them since 4 o’clock. But I’ve narrowed it down to these select few, that I think best tell the story. Check out all the images I took here abwatson.com/project-1001-rape-march/
I have been Hors de combat for the last 10 days and today was the first chance to get out with my new "super compact which I bought as a rucksack camera for a forthcoming walking trip. Sadly due to a combination of factors including the BA strike the walking trip is probably off but I am quite pleased with the camera
A CNDP soldier, one of Laurent Nkunda's rebels, in the Masisi village of Kirolwe. He had added a Stop Rape Power to Women and Girls badge to his beret. The badge is the emblem of the campaign UNICEF, V day and other organisations have started in Congo, and around the world to stop rapes in conflict areas.
