This picture is what most of the buildings look like. The houses have block walls and then a poured slab of concrete for the floor of the next level. The roof is the same way. Most of the houses have two or three stories.

These things are found under the bridges in HK. They are there to prevent people from either parking their cars or themselves under the bridges. On Sunday, the domestic helpers have the day off in HK and want to go out and park themselves somewhere. These things line the under bridge areas so that they can not sit there, out of the sun, and away from other people.
