The brakeman is preparing to dismount to line the east switch to the passing siding at Puslinch where they will meet an eastbound.
Outputting nearly 10,000 horsepower and pushing a mile-a-minute, the engineer aboard this Wolverton-bound extra has a quintet of EMDs in the company notch and a cloud of exhaust as they get up to track speed on CPKC’s fast-running Galt Subdivision at Puslinch, Ontario.
Canadian Pacific EMD SD70ACU 7037 hustles a lengthy train no. 137 across the undulating landscape at Puslinch, Ontario.
I can't believe this was over 10 years ago, absolutely insane. This is definitely one of my better catches from way back when. CP 627 is high-balling down the Galt sub coming up to it's namesake town with Soo 6061 screaming away after they met the 5960 East at Puslinch. Still wondering how I managed to get some sunlight when the sky was pretty much overcast but I'll gladly take it.
An eastbound Canadian Pacific freight is leaving the siding at Puslinch. Ontario about to pass under Hwy. 6, with a pair of GP35's - the leader still in candy stripes - May 27, 1979.

Basking in the ominous glow of the restricting signal ahead, BNSF 718 cools its heels in the siding at Puslinch on Canadian Pacific's Galt Subdivision as a westbound crude oil train accelerates by on the main.
CP T-69 leans into the banked curves east of Puslinch on their way back to London.
Train: CP T-69 with CP 3018 (GP38AC), CP 4427 (GP38-2), and CP 3022 (GP38-2).

in some nice afternoon light, CP 7001 leads 239 westbound on the Galt Sub at trackspeed with a short 40-car train for London.
CP #926 was a Windsor to Toronto train that was primarily empty autoracks. This shot required a bit of a hike in from the road, with a C-424 leader it was worth it. The second unit is a GATX leaser.
In the last light of the day and a very nice sunset, CP 9820 leads a 404 axel ethanol train up to the 7th concession in Puslinch as it heads east up the Galt sub. CSX 865 pushes from the rear.
CP H88 whips around the bend near Puslinch with a trio of GP38-2s and a couple dozen cars. CP 3063 looks especially nice against the late afternoon sun. With no work westbound, H88 is good to do trackspeed (+) all the way home to London.

I'm sorting old photos and posting a few interesting ones. This image was uploaded to Flickr on Dec. 2, 2021.
Thank you to everyone who visits, faves, and comments.
After having made its way up from Hamilton, 2T69 lead by the highly travelled UP 8871 leads a 6600 foot auto rack train west on the Galt sub on the approach to Victoria Road in Puslinch.
In a tribute to fallen CP 7011, here is one of my shots taken back in 2020 of CP 7011 leading CP 234 through Puslinch Ontario on its way to Toronto. The unit was wrecked in Rockwood, Maine on April 15/2023

I got luckier today and had time to get to a better location to get CP 7048 with CP 7041, CP 8038 and CP 8770 blast by the Puslinch mile board at mile 44 of the Galt sub.
In a whirlwind of snow, UP 7393 with CP 6248 blast up to the 7th Concession on the Galt sub in Puslinch with 9150 feet of train headed eastward to Toronto
This island home is on a lake near where I live, just outside of Cambridge, Ontario. Its good to see that new owners have fixed it up. The island is called "Somme Island".
The home has a disturbing history that is better left unsaid... see this article for some details (UPDATE BECAUSE SOME PEOPLE ASKED)

In the wake of the recent computer meltdown at the CPKC, have fun fixing that Kansas City bullshit…
In this image, two KCS SD70MACe’s are on the head end of this Herzog GPS train, which is dumping ballast on the Galt Sub between Guelph Jct. and Orr’s Lake. After some confusion over the radio about work authorities and who had track time where, the WGA crew finally got the work authority they needed and the onboard Herzog crew began to work their magic in the area of expertise of ballast dumping and so the chase was on. I believe about ten to twelve foamers were on the Hwy 6 overpass waiting for this guy.
Trains man trains!
I've always liked the look of ink wash ... here I've applied an effect in attempt to simulate that look with just a touch of colour.

After meeting an eastbound in the siding at Puslinch, CEFX 1007 accelerates past classic Canadian Pacific sentinels at mile 48 of the Galt Subdivision. With the replacement signals just down the line, it will only be a matter of time before these handsome searchlights fall victim to progress.

Mr. Bjorklund set up on the Hwy 6 overpass to catch CP Rail 5724 leading westbound merchandise through Puslinch, Ontario.
Back in the mid-1990s CPR usually had 200 or more leased units on hand. You could almost count finding at least one every train you saw. Finding two on a train wasn't unheard of such as this westbound running through the frozen swamp west of Puslinch. The 3rd unit is obviously of UP heritage, the 2nd unit now owned by Helm carries the colours it gained when it promoted "Paducah-built" for VMV.
Out on a foggy winter morning as sun started burning through.

CP 234 at Mile 59 Galt Subdivision.
Having high hopes of CP 7023 leading 234 this morning I was a little let down to see the red nose of CP 7006 leading...but all in all it's still a decent consist and I don't have any real issues with it!
Windsor-bound train #921 ducks under Highway 6 as it approaches the east switch for Puslinch on the Galt Sub.
Well, its early morning, but the train is running late to my advantage. The sun has just risen enough to eliminate the shadows as CP 234 runs on by the 7th Concession. Military unit CP 7023 all decked out in its airforce colours with CP heritage unit CP 7013, CP 2264 and CP 4427 continue eastward down the Galt sub through Puslinch.
CP 650 flies by Concession 7 near Puslinch behind CP 6232, KCSM 4132 and KCS 4584.
The rain briefly slowed from pouring to light and i snapped my shot.
Here's too a better year in 2021 to everyone!
Throw away train...that is we couldn't really do much with this guy and wished it ran a few hours later. This westbound happened by while we were waiting for an eastbound train with a set of BIGs at this spot.
I saw these on Friday but I didn't have my camera with me :-o
Doug and I went back this morning in the miserable, gray dawn light .

No shortage of horsepower here, 6,000 ponies are galloping on the Galt Sub as the London Pickup head west through Puslinch.
