Before coming to China, you surely had some ideas in your head about what the country and people were like. Some of these perceptions may have been accurate, but more than likely, you have found some of these preconceptions to be misconceptions. Which of your misconceptions about Chinese people or culture has surprised you the most? Why?

What misconceptions have you found Chinese people have had about you or America? Why do you think they have these misconceptions about you or America? What have you done when confronted with such misconceptions? Did you try to change the perception? Were your efforts met with success?

Another template I colored using acrylic and glitter. What fun.

I like how this library invites people to comment by saying "be the first to comment."

PROMPT:

A stunningly intricate (((drawing))) by Casey Baugh, representing a (((young, skinny farm worker girl))) with nothing but a tiny, flimsy summer dress to cover her figure, exposing an impressive navels, in a (sunny, south of France setting)

Gosh this prompt was difficult for me. I watched all week for vertical and thought and saw lots of things but none of it seemed to work. This photo was my "default", taken while hiking. LOTS of vertical rocks and vertical trees.

One time, I tried to teach a grouper to read.

Mailboxes on my street - 3 ways -- drawing edges, letting organic shape define edge, and shadows only - the more I look at shapes and shadows the more I see my drawings improving! Another valuable week of practice ;-)

I am participating in Folded Word's writing month event, called "24/7," during August. Participants spend the first 24 days of the month writing short works, then spend the final week in revisions. The second part of this entry gives more details.

I'm not required to give a central theme to the entries, but I chose the theme "Divinations" and am using a pair of dice to generate prompts. My prompt for August 24 -- the last before revisions -- is to write divination-themed micro-fiction that uses death. You can read the piece here.

Fagen-Miller's Prompt ambulance operates dozens of ambulances mostly with Wheeled coach bodies across northwest Indiana.

This one is probably one of the reserve ambulances since its older than most Prompt's.

RSC free outdoor production of Coriolanus at "The Dell"

The weather turned a bit showery so the audience and the prompt took shelter under their umbrellas. The cast just carried on regardless

(As he's using an Apple, should that be an i-brella?)

Finished prompt. Painted background with grid of collage elements made of scrapbooking paper. The written part of the word "believe" is done in sumi ink, the rest of the writing using a black marker.

Prompts: We were young, smoking cigarettes Driving fast cars, but we saw ghosts Held my hand hard, never no regrets Sneaking home, on the phone all night long When we were young We were lost, never stuck around Through the backstreets, but we saw ghosts Hold my hand hard, just speak my name Maybe one day we'll run away But we were lost --v 6.1

Naar aanleiding van een AI prompt. Stuk tekst over het maken van een tekening in 2 uur.

Not sure why but I'm beginning to loose interest in this challenge. I lacked inspiration and creativity for this prompt.

Journaling prompts: You could use this idea but label envelopes or pockets and put slips of paper inside.

My husband said the first thing he noticed about me was my eyes. That they have always captivated him. My next feature that makes me, well me, is my tattoos! I have never felt good in my own skin. So I was going to make my skin gorgeous! And if people stared at me, it was going to be because of the beautiful canvas on my skin or my outrageous colored hair and not my overweight body, or anything else I felt self conscious about. I was going to control what they were looking at, at least in my mind.
