My intent was to capture this piece of art outside the Allbright Knox museum in Buffalo which had a lot of tension the dark canoes and tension wires go in all different directions and the sky contrasts nicely.
F-stop: f/16
exposure: 1/100 sec.
ISO: 200
Intention: The goal I had in mind when creating and composing this photo was to show the action and motion in running to a still, motionless background.
Text Reference: In reading The Visual Toolbox: 60 Lessons for Stronger Photographs, Ducheman states, “But the sense of motion created by a slower shutter speed can bring energy and life to a photograph.” (Lesson 7. Use a Slower Shutter Speed; Ducheman)
Outcome: Overall I personally think I could have lowered my shutter speed to show off a more fluid whispy movement across the frame to make it more artistic.
Edits: Minimal cropping, Contrast boost, lowered the Green and Yellow saturation, slight sharpening and noise reduction.
"A penguin stands out in a room full of peacocks."
The metaphor praises simplicity of form and black & white and I've tried to make this visually clear through the contrasting typography.
The motivation of my idea comes from my dad as starting point to develop this project:carpet of memory.
I show the photos of my grandfather, my father and me.
My fashion Muse image combines my memories of Chinese subcultures, such as Cui Jian-the godfather of Chinese rock, and Skinhead Punk.
My references are some of my childhood memories of subcultures, such as the movie, restaurant and skinhead band.
I started by draping with old garments from my my grandfather and father.
My intent was to capture the curves of the two peppers intertwining. The lighting also shows contrast between the soft spots and the deep ruts in the peppers.

"Her eyes were puffy and she looked bewildered"

ISO 25600
Intention- Display a landscape scene at the camera's highest ISO to compare with other photos of varying ISO values.
Reference to the reading-"The faster the ISO, the less light you’ll need, but the image will often get grainier, or noisier in digital capture, as a result" which is apparent in this high ISO photo.
Outcome-The image looks noisy and blurry because the ISO is too high for this composition.
Edits- I increased the brightness and saturation of the image.
I also love shooting with a short depth of field. For this "Who Are You?" project I would definitely say that is my favorite shooting style. I love the detail you can capture.
Part of a series of Advertisements for the Akzidenz-Grotesk Typeface. (Typography Experiments). From the book: Josef Muller-Brockmann. Pioneer of Swiss Graphic Design. Lars Mullers Publishers.
ISO 100
Intention- Display a landscape scene at 100 ISO to compare with other photos of varying ISO values.
Reference to the reading- Duchemin states, "ISO 100 is 'slow,' meaning much less light sensitive" which allows the image to look relatively smooth.
Outcome- The image looks decent and a good amount of detail can be seen in the water.
Edits- The image was not edited.
