This is a version of the original Canadian Poutine.
I prefer the original recipe, if I am going to eat heart attack food.
Baked hashbrowns & aged white cheddar, topped with hollandaise. (Other options: miso gravy and tomato-orange cream).
I was told it was better than the good afternoon poutine due to the hollandaise..!

Poutine is a French-Canadian dish of French fries and fresh cheese curds, covered with brown gravy or sauce. Sometimes additional ingredients are added.
Poutine is a fast food dish that originated in Quebec and can now be found across Canada, and is slowly also gaining popularity in the United States in cities such as Portland, Oregon. It is sold by national and international fast food chains, in small "greasy spoon" type diners (commonly known as "cantines" or "casse-croûtes" in Quebec) and pubs, as well as by roadside chip wagons (commonly known as "cabanes à patates", literally meaning "potato shacks"). Poutine may also contain other ingredients such as beef, pulled pork or lamb. Atypically, the dish may also include additional ingredients such as lobster meat, shrimp, rabbit confit, caviar, and truffles.

OK, so this is the closest to the real thing I can get in Minnesota I guess, but their heart is in the right place and I think its tasty. Oh, and it is a lot of fun to say 'poutine'. Served at Axel's Bonfire.

Carbs, protein, salt and fat
I especially liked the cheese curds - it has the consistency of buffalo mozzarella, but it also makes the 'squeak' sound against your teeth when you chew, like a haloumi. Tasted like cottage cheese/mozzarella.
Unfortunately the chips themselves seemed to be old - like 1 hour old and refried. If they used freshly fried chips I would have enjoyed this even more, no doubt.
I will go back though, try all the other combinations.

hey ben.. une dernière poutine pour moi, et je n'ai pas été déçu! Le bon fromage, frites minces et bien cutes et une sauce qui sort pas de sachets st-hubert. Ici, poutine végétarienne, avec oinions, champignons (sur le gril) piments verts et rouge (rouge, le grand luxe!). Vraiment, une des meilleures poutines que j'ai mangé. Pour les puristes, la poutine régulière est fantastique aussi!
Maam Bolduc, 4351 Lorimer (corner Marie-Anne & Lormier)
Very good vegetarian poutine at Maam Bolduc. perfect thin fries, fresh vegetables and curds. Nice touch: red peppers gives it a nice touch on the presentation side. Served by a smiling and patient waitress. Great ambiance with the "In Good Company OST" playing in the background (I love Iron and Wine)... really worth a detour, for me.
After some good exploring, and getting a bit soaked and frozen, it's always good to warm up with Poutine.
Mac's poutine at Papa Haydn beats Potato Champion easily. I prefer these fries as they are thinner but the key is, of course, the gravy. I've always had an issue with Potato Champion's gravy but there are no issues with this gravy.
In addition, it's just awesome to see poutine on a brunch menu at a upscale restaurant.
My favourite non-Québec poutine. I've never tried any of their variations because I end up just craving the classic one.
Best and probably only place in Los Angeles to get poutine...tried this fancier version with steak and mushrooms added. Delicious!
