Deep fried pork cutlet and rice soup from 周記肉粥店, 台北市廣州街104號, 02-2302-5588, open from 6 AM until they run out of food that day
We splurged for our last dinner in Chiang Mai and spent THB1000, or AUD30. This was a place that got good reviews by Japanese. Sure enough, we were the only tourists there. Everyone else were Japanese salarymen from the Fuji-something factory who grabbed a manga off the shelf as they walked in!
Good Japanese curry, but the pork cutlet was a bit dry.

... green beans and baguette; served with an organic Montepulciano red wine.
The sauce was created spontaneously in the process of cooking and was very delicious:
I fried the salted and peppered cutlets in some olive oil together with some sprigs of rosemary, halved cherry tomatoes, shallots in stripes and three cloves of garlic. When the cutlets were done I took them off the pan, added a good glass full of red wine and let the stock cook down. Then I squeezed the tomatoes a bit and pressed the sauce through a sieve. I added tomato paste, seasoned the sauce with salt and pepper and served it with the cutlet.
Mix of homecooking and takeaway food.
