these are the first zucchini from the garden this spring. Since it was pizza night i figured what better time to start the harvest.
Our oven, a gas range, has the broiler on the bottom. You place stuff under it in a drawer. This is where I cook my pizzas, on a pizza stone. Unfortunately, it means that instead of standing at the stove, I spend half my time on my elbows and knees, peeking into the broiler drawer and moving the pizza around.
I had to pull this pizza before the top cooked properly. The bottom was in danger of burning completely black.

This should technically be filed under "Pizza Day," since I made this for lunch, but whatever. Going for consistency in titling here.
My cousins Lisa and Jim gave me a set of these pepperoni-pizza plates for Christmas. I think I've gone many years without getting pizza-themed stuff (hard to believe, I know), and then this year, BOOM, people are buying me pizza-shaped plates. Who's to complain?!?
Inspired by Detroit-style pan pizza, I took the mozzarella out to the edge. Full coverage. 550 grams of dough. 4 to 5 ounces cheese. Cooked 5 minutes pre-mozz, then 16 minutes more. Need to pull pizza out sooner, though. Cheese is approaching burnt at edges. Two minutes less might be ideal.
