Sherri Erison has fired 900 Bank Hapoalim employees so that the bank can run more smoothly. This is a result: standing line for standing in line. I wasted 12 minutes on that line. The pixelization - because one of the women threatened to sue.

What I made for AKA's art auction. It's Doug, the SAB's visual arts consultant.

10 second exposures, over 300 exposures for 1 hour of data. ASI 294 with the C9.25 and no reducer, -10C, gain of 300, Orion Atlas Pro and new SharpCapPro sequencer using the automatic dithering from integration with PhD guiding. Using PI's Multiscale Linear Transform and k sigma noise thresholding for final polish to remove some pixelization.

Conditions were 16 degrees F and calm winds, very dry February evening with a quarter moon in the sky. I could not tell that the glow from that moon affected the image at all.

This image seems to be of equivalent quality to the one taken in 2019 using long exposures. Yet another argument in favor of lucky imaging. Large amount of data to process is a drawback, but a big advantage is to throw out bad frames and achieve sharper final image.

After we finally made our way into Mt. Rainier National Park in April 2013, darkness was impending. In trying to get a few final shots at high ISO, I ended up with a lot of pixelization in the dark areas of the shot.

When I have a shot where I am not satisfied with the quality, I like to play with Photoshop filters and see what I can do to help "hide the blemishes". I've shared all four versions - neon glow, normal, dark strokes and poster edges. This is the first time that I've found the neon glow filter to my liking on one of my shots.

I've posted the other three in the comment boxes below as well as farther back in my photostream.

Seeing this Osprey nest on the U.S. Route 15 bridge in Clarksville, Virginia, WAS my most exciting wildlife sighting during my friend's wedding weekend over Memorial Day. THEN it was surpassed by the sighting of a trio of Black Bears - the mother & 2 cubs - the next day.

This shot isn't cropped as heavily as the previous version. I wanted to share a less pixelized view of this hot mother Osprey incubating her eggs on this concrete pier beside the bridge.

I spotted her the day before when I was exploring the town and drove across the bridge.

Fuji FinePix E900 and Gimp. As I was saying below (about the picture from which this crop came) I spent some time looking at the Photographic Impressionism group

( www.flickr.com/groups/photographic-impressionism/ ). I ran into this nice gallery , and that got me enthused to piddle around with the image below again, to try to make something to submit to that group. I ended up cropping out a section from the picture below, and Gimped it a bit.

My sister and I got bored in the middle of the night. We decided to make a fat bun on the top of my head.

She suggested that this was an unflattering picture of her, hence the pixelization.

Vancouver (and the pixelized whale) reflected in the convention center glass wall.

We went to IKEA and bought some linen with pixelized katakana (as I call it) print on it.

Playing around with pixelization

I decided to nix all that nasty pixelization in Photoshop. That's what I get for using my cameraphone all the time.

well, for something different after quite some time of being almost offline and working getting my website (http://zimmer428.net) to work right.

anyhow, my phone provider recently gave me a new cell phone including a "toy" (a low-resolution vga digital camera). I discovered that, indeed, it _is_ sort of a toy, creating low-res images being fuzzy and pixelized and great for doing strange stuff... almost as great as using Lomo cameras. ;) this is a shot of the Elbe rivershore in Dresden, taken from one of the river ferries. looks... strange after some post-processing... :) i've also wrote some things on that new toy: dm.zimmer428.net/index.php/archives/36

Multi-segment displays seem to have evolved since the old 7-part calculator digit. About time, too, looks better than pixelized fonts.

Notice that the N isn't perfect, there's a bit of a tooth on it's lower side near the middle.

this was the first time I have ever made pixel art. i created screenshots of a fictitious video game about saint patrick’s day. my main influence was super mario world for super nintendo.

Photos by Gina that I blew up, pixelized and made into posters. Thanks, Gina!

I used Tabblo/HP printing services to print them out in 18"x24" and I'm pretty satisfied with the quality. They actually e-mailed me when filling my order because they thought the image was too pixelated, so you know they check the quality of every print.

To hang them, I stuck metal-faced tacks on the wall and used tiny magnets - instead of buying some of these.

Photo taken at the Dane County Farmer's Market, 1 May 2010.

Tulips in bloom, roughly 68 degrees, first week of asparagus, and the people are out in force.

Faces have been pixelized to protect people's privacy when viewing at larger sizes. Otherwise, the picture is unaltered.

This image was published in the June issue of Plansponsor Magazine. The article that this illustrated was about choosing the best company. The art director wanted an illustration that captured the myriad of choices confronting those who are making investment decisions.

throwback to the old days of gaming, when everything had pixels viewable by all, and game-play rules the day.
