"This collection is a visual journey through time, gathering the very earliest examples of what we today take for granted: the first website to use surround sound, the first drag-and-drop navigation, the first page-turn effect, the first website to use seamless video integration, the first viral site, the first parallax website, the first ‘upload-your-face’ website, the first site to incorporate a mobile phone, the first ever YouTube-like “website”, and many more.
It gathers more than 200 websites, and each comes with quotes and insights from the creators themselves―an invaluable peek into the minds of pioneers who paved the pixelized way for many to follow, including Jonathan Gay (Flash), Gabo Mendoza (Gabocorp), Yugo Nakamura (Yugop), Peter Van Den Wyngaert (NRG.BE), Joshua Davis (Praystation), and Eric Jordan (2Advanced)."
This sign was amazingly pixelized and it also screamed at me to be OOOOOL!!!!! Flint and I were very uncool and waited in this line for some very important tickets. (In this line we heard 30 seconds of Chairlift's "Bruises" approximately 120 times, no joke. deep loop of ipod commercial)
"The most popular series of NFT collectibles are algorithmically generated," Dean Kissick, the New York editor of Spike Art Magazine wrote in an article published in March, as the NFT trend was just beginning to explode. The algorithm was being described as having a negative impact on culture and he's not alone in his predictions. Many critics affirm that algorithms can do two things: they create poor art and devalue the culture in general.
The issue, Kissick wrote, is "we are seeking too much content that is too fast and this results in an endless algorithmic churning process that creates this paint-by numbers effect. It's evident in the world of art. On Netflix documentaries. Spotify playlists. Op-ed pages. The latest news. The latest fake outrage. First-person novel that has been well-reviewed. It's all so boring and boring."
This was in March of last year and it was long before algorithms began to rule the NFT market and penetrate the boundaries of the world of fine art through auction houses. The last few months--which crypto enthusiasts have been labeling" JPEG Summer "JPEG summer"--saw the growth of hugely popular profile-picture NFT initiatives (PFP NFTs) such as Bored Ape Yacht Club and Pudgy Penguins. These projects capitalize on the popularity of CryptoPunks the series featuring pixelized pictures of punks. They remain the dominant force in an NFT scene. Each of these projects follows an algorithm that is based on algorithms.

Today is Mon Tissu day in my closet! The twill pants are an item I often reach for (in a pixelized way - maybe click on is a better expression?). Add a basic tee and this amazing jacket and all that is needed are some accessories!
The hair is Elikatira, scarf from Jane, mesh boots from Deco, pose and riding crop are from Alterior Motions.
A logo I created for a group of players on the MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) game of Age of Conan. Doubled the size of the image so that it can be zoomed in on without pixelization, adjusted boarders and layers to make the text and images stand out from the background. Switched all items to smart objects so that transformations on objects are not destructive.
how to learn to lay backwards on the stairs in 10 seconds. this was so nerve racking hahaha.
i love the fact that my new camera can crop down to less than 50% and still look not gross and pixelized :D it makes me happy.
I took a little break before moving and went to see some friends.
this is the only picture of myself that was taken in that week.
(besides some pictures of my eyebrows and hair taken by The Inaftuated to play around with my camera and macro.. )
I like how my iris seems to be pixelized because of the reflections of the tree.
so.. not too much that happened. took a three days break to see friends, came back, packed the last stuff, moved into the new apartment, built up shelves and closets and unpacked boxes.
that's it.
The pixelized Duck leading the flight comes fromt the 1984 shooter video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) video game console

…that if Harry Potter were a real person, he'd turn 28 today (it says somewhere that his birthday was on July 31st, 1980). Happy birthday Harry! So, I just whipped this together using a card from a set of HP playing cards I've had on my bookshelf for ages upon ages. After, I added the title, monochromed and then changed a few other things. It wasn't difficult.
Anyway, I think he's such a sweetheart! You all know how I feel about Harry Potter!<3 Just look at his face...
P.S. I'll fix the pixelization later lol
We were walking along the LA River bike path, from one end of the Frogtown Artwalk to the other, when a car began to tentatively pull out onto the path, where no car belongs. (I don't know how he even got that far.) The driver looked stressed and wanted to know how to get on to the nearby freeway. Several of us assured him that he'd have to back up and try again.
The best part? The sign on the side of the car identifying it as belonging to a driving school. (There's no need to identify the school. We all have off days.)

The digital zoom I had to use to get this close made for a seriously pixelized shot...figured WC would be nice.
I submitted a tee shirt design called Viva La Pixelization! to Threadless.com to be voted on and hopefully printed.
If I get enough high scores the shirt will be printed and sold from the site and I will win some prizes. Take a look at it and if you like it, sign up and give it a score.

Downtown of Seattle, WA, USA. The "comet" is just airplane, but it gives a little magic, so I have chosen this photo, even if it has to many "pixelized" areas.
The little things – those things that you really do mind, but you know there’s no going back in time and that what’s done is done. Often, we really do mind the little things but saying so will achieve nothing. One little pixel at a time in Photoshop. Click to see widescreen version on Flickr.
it isn't love if it's reactive
it's only art if you're a cock-tease artist
and your cock-tease museum will be a tower of babel penetrating the clouds seeking a father figure in the sky
After we finally made our way into Mt. Rainier National Park in April 2013, darkness was impending. In trying to get a few final shots at high ISO, I ended up with a lot of pixelization in the dark areas of the shot.
When I have a shot where I am not satisfied with the quality, I like to play with Photoshop filters and see what I can do to help "hide the blemishes". I've shared all four versions - neon glow, normal, dark strokes and poster edges.
