I was looking for a rust-based photo from the beginning of the assignment, but my search for colorful rust was unsuccessful. Regular rust by itself was not leading to very interesting photos, so I started looking for a rusty object that could bring some depth into the photo while still having the rustiness I wanted to include in at least one of my photos for this week. While working on another photo, I discovered a decorative statue and took the above photo of its tail. I used some basic curves editing and color mixing to tone down the glare and make the rusty color stand out a little more.
Teeswater Sheep fiber. The commercial top was hand dyed with easter egg colour and spun and plied on a autumn hollow farm spindle. I used a plying ball and spun a pigtail yarn (art yarn).
