Le mont Pico (2 351 m,) est le plus haut sommet des Acores ... et donc du Portugal ... il est soit invisible à cause de la brume, soit omniprésent dans le paysage.... cela peut changer d'une minute à l'autre .... on l'approche... on l'escalade .... en quelques kilomètres on passe du niveau de la mer et d'une ambiance tropicale à celle du Jura ou des préalpes suisse .... des vaches qui semblent suspendues au dessus des nuages, et des routes qui vont vers le ciel

Os Picos de Europa são uma cadeia montanhosa no norte da Espanha, que faz parte da Cordilheira Cantábrica. A sua constituição geológica é predominantemente calcária.
The Picos de Europa are a mountain range in northern Spain, part of the Cordillera Cantábrica. Its geological composition is predominantly limestone.
Mount Teide (Spanish: Pico del Teide) is a volcano on Tenerife in the Canary Islands. Its 3,718 metre high summit is the highest point in Spain, the highest point above sea level in the islands of the Atlantic, and it is the third highest volcano in the world measured from its base on the ocean floor. It remains active, with its most recent eruption occurring in 1909 from the El Chinyero vent on the north western Santiago rift. Teide together with its neighbour Pico Viejo and Montaña Blanca form the Central Volcanic Complex of Tenerife. (from wikipedia)

Madère au petit matin d'été sur le Pico do Arieiro. Le spectacle de ces nuages qui se déversaient sur les montagnes était tout simplement magnifique.

Volcan mas alto en Mexico y tercero de Norte America, alcanza 5,747 msnm. Es el atractivo natural por exelencia de la region de Orizaba, se encuentra en los limites de Puebla y Veracruz. Conocido como el Citlatepelt, que significa Cerra de la Estrella.
