Click beetle found along Lyell Highway a few kilometers south of Tarraleah.

The peg on the prosternum is clearly visible. This peg is what allows click beetles to "click" and flick themselves over.

When turned upside down the beetle arches it head and back pulling the peg clear of the notch. The tip of the peg gets jammed in the mouth of the notch and tension is created by the animal straightening up. As the head pulls in the tension on the the peg increases and finally the peg slips back into the notch. This releases the energy suddenly and causes the beetle to flip into the air with a loud "click".

This has top be the largest click beetles I've ever seen. Probably just over 3cm long.

been raining overnigt so wanted to try and capture some raindrops.

Funny you know - I was doing the washing and as I hung out my clothes I noticed these two parent pegs teaching their baby how to hang.

I guess in many ways we are all the same - we just live in different houses 0_o

this-morning i was walking home from Kristen's house, i took the "field street" route and saw this chair...

it was in front of a random run down house, it is my ex girlfriend, Peggy's chair... she painted it and stuff... but peg has never lived here so she couldn't have left it in the house... i wonder how it got to this house...

Peg's bath decor.

Michelle our Youth Librarian with Peg Kehret at the Graham Library.We were able to have her for a book signing.

I made Kimmy (Lennox) a peg leg out of epoxy, painted it with nailpolish and decorated it with nail art studs. I also made the hat, sword and eyepatch myself. Face-up was done by me. Lea (Vega) was done by Latidoll, she is a full set.
