MM - Patterns in Nature - HMM!

sunlit Beech leaves seen on a walk in the woods last Sat - HCT & HBW!

These ice crystals have been forming on the grass overnight. My new obsession!

One very unique pattern in nature in this tree's bark, complete with pareidolia.

I was expecting to capture a fairly generic picture of bark on one ot the trees just outside my work building, until I found this trunk, well, looking at me. Not very well camouflaged within the pattern was this area where the bark peeled off, looking very much like a fish or, at least, a tadpole. I have no idea how long this pattern will last, but it will at least provide some amusement for a while.

During a recent visit, the Lake District National Park offered pleasing displays of Autumn's colours - all very beautiful to see and the reflections brought about by still waters were particularly lovely.

The tiny florets of a cultivar of Santolina (Cotton Lavender)

I thought I was finished photographing the pumpkins at Trader Joe’s for this fall, but these colors caught my eye this morning. The yellows, and the big pinkish one with warts!😊

for Macro Mondays, Patterns in Nature. Beetle smaller than my little finger nail. And there's a much small er one on the flower he's heading for.

Seen in a glasshouse at Sheffield Botanical Gardens

This year the FFF+ Group have decided to have a weekly challenge called “Snap Happy”. A different theme chosen by a member of the group each week, and the image is to be posted on the Monday of the week.

This week the theme, “patterns in nature” was chosen by Cheryl, Cheryl - Vickypoint.

My first thought when the theme was announced was how fortunate that I had been in my garden only days before. Taking advantage of the sunny and unseasonably warm autumnal day in my rear garden I had been photographing the leaves of various plants basking in the sunlight. Their patterns were so eye catching.

In this collage, the shot on the left is of a fig leaf from my neighbour’s overhanging tree. The pattern reminds me of an aerial view of a suburban estate with major arterial roads off which come feeder streets from which expands the maze of courts, closes and boulevards that make up the designs of modern housing estate design. The shot on the right shows the beautiful stripes of an aspidistra that used to live in our entrance hall in a jardiniere, but became a bit too large for it.
