Some panels will be aluminium sheet - but I am doing the plywood first. I am using 5mm ply for the structural areas and 3.5mm for shaping. This thickness allows a reasonable amount of 'give' and even goes slightly convex where necessary.

Final 3 panels for assemblage project (family).
This panel used images from family photo albums, an ultrasound from when my mom was pregnant with me, and creative commons images of the landscape, fence, roots, and flowers/pots.
I wanted to work with the idea of the choice that goes into starting a family, and how it is often undertaken by multiple people whose desires are similar but necessarily different simply because they are different people, and it's simultaneously collaborative and very independently-motivated. I used a quote from one of my favorite short stories that deals primarily with the idea that love begins as a selfish endeavor but ultimately has to be about the person you're loving.

Que English, senior pastor at Bronx Christian Fellowship Church, and Dr. Frederick Harris, professor of political science and Director of the Center on African-American Politics and Society, served as members of a plenary panel discussing "Election Year and Beyond: Social and Political Activism in the City’s Black Churches" at RCC 2016.

Our friends Larry and Shermane are docents at the Palatki Heritage Site just NW of Sedona. For someone who is fascinated with cliff dwellings and rock art, it was a thrill to have our own tour guides through this amazing location. We were fortunate to see the Bear Alcove and Roasting Pit rock art panels in addition to the ruins and the Grotto panel. These are just a few of the shots I took at Palatki.
Palatki Heritage Site is administered by the Forest Service. The site has ruins and 3 areas of rock art that are in exceptional condition and that you can view with a docent. The cliff dwelling and Grotto pictograph panel are staffed daily for visitation. The Bear Alcove and Roasting Pit rock art areas are only open to the public when there are sufficient docents available.
For our annual spring fling, we chose Sedona, Arizona. We spent 7 days hiking trails around Sedona and a day hiking the Grand Canyon's South Rim. The highlight of our trip was spending 4 days on the trails with Larry and Shermane who we met last year at The Citadel Ruin on Cedar Mesa. They graciously opened their home to us and showed us Sedona area sites that the average tourist would never know about.
