7 simple rules piersey.com/rules-to-lose-100-pounds/ that keep me on track every day — no burnout, no overthinking.

I love sitting at windows and looking at how every time of the day shows different colours of the sky, gets me thinking about how complex get simple this world is made as a whole. Sitting from such a view outside my home couldn't make me feel any better, before taking this photo I was feeling very plain and would be overthinking about all situations be it troubling or something rather meaningless.

But as soon as I got up from my bed and looked out completely changed my mood as well as my outlook on all the things I had given such intense thought about. How the sky moves at its own pace but always completes its duty of changing into different shades of the day for us to continue our own

Bad times are emotional. You feel them even though you don’t understand them. They hit you in a way mathematical problems wouldn’t. However, they both represent a problem and as such it has to be solved.

Being able to emotionally isolate a problem and turning on your head instead is an ability that you do have, it just needs to be dredged up from the debris your heart holds inside. The key is right there.

It’s all in your head.

Life has a lot of facets, one single key isn’t enough. If you Reverse the scenario, the key is Reversed too.

At times you create problems that are not there in the first place. You do it when you overthink something instead of acting on it. It happens even before you make a decision. It comes with fear and it leaves as regret. Your brain tries to protect you from the unknown, yeah, but your heart knows and understands it before your head ever could. It’s an irrational drive pushing you: your head will always resist it since it doesn’t understand it, but a gut feeling is there for a reason, it either changes your life or it becomes a lesson.

After all, winning strategies are deployed by your head but permanent stuff comes through that pulsing core inside your chest.

It’s all in your heart.

stop thinking, youre running through my mind,

stop hoping, he's not yours to love, to find.

From today's blog post: "Could it be that my worries are the same as always, just shifted to new circumstances? Could it be that moms are destined to be anxious about every single decision they make in the lives of their children?

Maybe you’re not like that. Maybe you make a decision, stick with it, and calmly go about your life. I’ve never met a mom like you, but I’m sure you exist somewhere." (...read more at InspiredRD.com - link in profile)

errsuz: Do you have the info/printables for this activity on your blog?😊

mrstarawarner: @inspiredrd you can meet me! I am 75% of the time the kind of mom that makes a decision and I continue to go about life as usual. Life is too precious to overthink and be anxious 😉 At least that is how it works for me!

alysabajenaru: @errsuz No but I can send you the link!

errsuz: That would be great! S_errebo@yahoo.com 😊

I typed out a lot and lost it. Maybe it's not meant to be said, but I'm putting off sleep to write this. It took me falling in love with someone else's photostream to realize how disappointed I am in myself and the direction my photography has taken. I love my photos, I am extremely proud of my growth, but these photos are supposed to represent me... and they kinda DON'T. Well, let me correct myself. There is a part of me that likes the cheery, beautiful photographs, but I never saw myself as an artist that would express herself in this way. These samples I'm posting are photos I'd taken in the past two years that were a step in the right direction, but I never pushed forward and worked toward perfecting them. For that, I'm utterly disappointed. I haven't even mixed it up. It's been the same, though luckily it's gotten easier and better for me with each shoot. My "artist" self is not represented well by my exterior self, which is fine. I'm a cheery person, extremely happy, but just a small part of me is darker, moodier, "realistic," void and withdrawn. This part of me would be utterly affective if let out through the camera. I'm just bummed and overthinking, but maybe by posting these, I'll be reminding myself to mix it up. I can have pretty photos, but I can also begin painting with a darker brush. We'll see.

你看,畫就是畫。長大有時真的得丟棄太多了,眼光越換越茫然,我喜歡那種簡單的水汪汪。(咦,完全離題。但沒關係,看別人看畫也是一種享受。)

I have been up in my head over this stitch for a little while now. everytime i sat down to give it a go i would overthink it until i was overwhelmed.

Well as usual... when i just did it w/out the analytical back and forth... it worked just fine.

it ias not as wonky as it looks in this camera phone pic. the edges are very neat and straight. the think and thin lumpy bumpy actually looks great, much better than in this photo.

I learned a long time ago to not think too hard about the mission you’ve been given; overthinking things has been the death of many, and it’s best to be honest with yourself about these things. If it’s your time, it’s your time. I am a producer of results, whether those results are the banishment of the Krudian Empire from a far out Rim world they had enslaved, or finding some posh senator's dream meal. Seeing as I have coverage of all expenses up to Theta 1B I might as well enjoy the wonderful beers this little back water world has. Taking my helmet off is generally not allowed but due to the covert nature of my work, I'm required to stay undetected… I discovered that the hard way. My first time in a store to pick up supplies after landing garnered me some very strange looks… almost like they’d never seen a Galactic Federation Space Ranger before… “OH YEA! THEY HAVEN’T!!”

Alice Morse Earle once wrote, "The clock is running. Make the most of today. Time waits for no man. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present."

As precious as time is, it is taken advantage of, and it affects our lives more than we'd like to admit. People mourn their history rather than let it go, they overthink their future to the point of ruining it, and procrastinate the present time. Minutes pass by and nothing is accomplished. Time is out biggest fear, yet we do nothing about that.

At LaVallette yesterday during a rather awesome storm. John took Johnny down to the shore to his parents' house, and Rick joined him for the day with Joey & Conner. (If I were a true South Jerseyian, which I"m not, I'd say 'down the shore' rather than 'down to the shore....") Joey was soo happy to be there with his cousins. I'm immersed in my manuscript, trying to finish it so I can send it out to my readers for the conference in early August (a group of us is reading each others' manuscripts and then giving each other feebdack, but I have to finish mine!). It's at 310 pp and I keep thinking I"m done, then I add more....It'll be awesome to get feedback on this. Joey is worried about his elbow and shoulder as they've been hurting off and on, perhaps from the pitching, perhaps from the weights, perhaps from his own anxieties, who knows. I took him to the pediatrician and he referred us to a sports doctor, so we'll see what he says; the pain is pretty minor, so I'm thinking if it's anything it's tendonitis; Joey has a tendency toward overthinking and anxiousness, so I try to minimize as much as I can for him. I did relaxation techniques with him too. He feels best when he feels there's a proactive plan, hence the doctor. The sucky thing is that I'm not sure how much of the baseball camps he should do, if any, and he has nothing else really planned for the summer until the basketball near the end of July. We'll figure it out.

Inspired by the Belgian artist; René Magritte. This surrealism college portrays Magritte's surrealist perspective of depicting ordinary objects in unexpected contexts. A man is standing in the middle of two options: a busy city or paradise. His face is replaced with a cloud to show "cloudy" thoughts of confusion, unclear thoughts, overthinking and indecisiveness. The collage shows a reality vs dreams aspect where being in the city is real life, and the beach/paradise is where he dreams to be.

This is a photo I took around 2-3am on my way home for the weekend. We’re still in Columbus in this photo, probably on the way to Tim Horton’s or just leaving from there. That’s our routine whenever I come home, it’s a moment I really appreciate. My mom picks me up after work (2-3am) then we usually swing by TH. It’s always a really calm drive, the only vehicles being Semis. I was telling my mom about this project and how I was starting to struggle finding a cohesive sense of identity. I realize now I shouldn’t have been searching for it, it probably would’ve came a lot easier had I not waited for the “perfect” me moments. I spent too much time overthinking a project and worrying about whether or not my pictures would be good enough.

Many of us think of introverts as being quiet, reserved and thoughtful people who keep themselves to themselves and prefer not to attend social events, and we may be right, but there is often more to an introvert than simply being the opposite of an extrovert.

The world-renowned psychologist, Carl Jung, first described introverts and extroverts back in the 1960’s and wrote that they could be distinguished from one another by how they regain energy. In his preliminary findings, he wrote that introverts prefer being in an environment that is not particularly stimulating and that they need ample time to recharge and recover from stimulants. Extroverts, on the other hand, gain fuel from being around others.

That said and many years on, we now know that these personality traits are not always easily defined, and that some introverts can have elements of extroversion in their personalities, and vice versa. While it’s true that both types of personality can experience problems with their mental health, it’s widely accepted and proven that introverts are more susceptible to depression than many other personality types.

Why could this be?

Many with introverted personalities prefer to spend time immersed in their own worlds, listening to their own inner thoughts and engaging with their own monologues that often take over their mind space. They also choose to speak out less often, and when they do, they choose their words very carefully. Thinking too much and speaking too little are common criticisms of introverts. Due to their restricted lack of communication with others, they may harbor a wide range of emotions that over time, become trapped and can torment them, sometimes having a hugely debilitating effect on their everyday lives.

Overthinking and a lack of social activity can combine to make the average introvert more prone to symptoms of depression than others, and when their thinking processes take over it can cause them to focus on their perceived faults or frailties, which can lead to a downturn in self-esteem. Alongside this, they may begin experiencing feelings of guilt and even general despair, which when left untreated, can evoke a cycle of hopelessness that can make them feel depressed and alone.

So, if you’re an introvert, what can you do to cope with depression?

Firstly, if you’re an introvert and suffering from depression, it’s important to remember that you can get over it, and you can tackle the reasons behind the illness safely, provided you seek help from a mental health professional.

In recognizing your own personality characteristics as an introvert, don’t push yourself to face your depression in any particular way. Instead, be honest with yourself and allow yourself to find your own ways of dealing with depression. And, please seek help from a professional therapist if you don’t find your symptoms easing, or if you’re worried that you’re beginning to feel worse.

Proved to be remarkably easy. No need to overthink it. Just get the length you need correct, cutt it off, then cut on the diagonal at an angle reasonably close to the original (no need for perfection here), and voila!

From Overthinkingit.com, your guide to female characters in tv,movies... AND what to avoid!!!

Past and future. You deal with them everyday. Sometimes they manifest to you in their worst form with overthinking memories from the past and procrastinating or having worries about the future. However, sometimes the past cheers you up with good memories and the future brings you dreams and hope. But the fact is, these are all abstract. None of these actually exists. When both merge together is where reality is held: the present. You live in the present and this is where efficiency is. This is what will affect your life, not your future. This is what defines you, not your past.

It doesn’t matter at what speed and if by steam or by electricity, trains always go on, eventually they get to their destination. Similarly, you can be either a steam train at a specific moment or a Shinkansen other times but your destination is the main point.

Other people will discuss appearance, pollution, capacity, surroundings, materials, speed and many more. They always have something against both your past and your future, but you’re unbeatable when it comes to your present.

Choose your own pace. In any case you’ll cause pollution, nobody’s perfect. Don’t worry too much about your appearance and focus on your efficiency. It doesn’t matter whether you carry lots of people or just a few, the lighter you are the faster you go and you can still make multiple trips whenever you want.

Just remember, you can switch rails, you can stop, you can overhaul. In other worlds, you can always REVERSE your life!

When I was first acquainted with acrylic paint I was nervous because acrylic paintings cannot be erased like pencil drawings. This painting was actually one of my first paintings. My art teaher inspired me by telling me I shouldn't complicate the object by focusing on every detail. I emptied my mind and started painting, focusing more on my emotions and the way the object felt to me. Without overthinking the project, I realized I have created my own unique style. I was suprised by my capabilities to produce such a beautiful painting.

How many of us have goals and aspirations that excite us, but then we look around, overthink, and decide we can’t do it.

I think it’s high time we stop doubting ourselves, our abilities, and our own strength.

4me4you features “it won’t last forever”..

Artist: Jess Cochrane.

4me4you recently had the opportunity to visit Gillian Jason Gallery, where the artist Jess Cochrane presented her exhibition titled “it won’t last forever”..

In her work, Jess Cochrane explores themes of connectivity and friendship, drawing from personal experiences to create compositions that resonate deeply with viewers. Her paintings depict familiar, relatable scenes, capturing the joy and intimacy of shared moments. Through the dynamic movement of her brushstrokes, Cochrane conveys a sense of spontaneity and natural ease.

"I am not trying to make ‘loud’ works," Cochrane explains. "Nothing in the way I work has any element of overthinking; I allow everything to come naturally. That’s why I am drawn to leisure scenes: they are peaceful, natural moments, not forced or artificial."

Her exhibition It Won’t Last Forever reflects on our impulse to freeze fleeting moments, especially through digital photography and social media, as we attempt to immortalise them. Cochrane touches on consumerist habits and the passage of time, highlighting the transient nature of both moments and objects. Her compositions often include subtle details of personal indulgence—like food, drinks, or cigarettes—while her still lifes feature objects of consumption, such as a bowl of tangerines or a burning candle.

To explore these ideas, Cochrane participates in the same digital cycle, using reference images taken on her phone, which she then brings to life through paint. This interplay between the physical and digital worlds is central to her art, offering a pause from the constant digital presence and grounding the viewer in the present moment. Her brushwork captures the immediacy of the 'now', showcasing the unique power of paint over digital imagery.

"Paint has far more power than an iPhone," Cochrane notes. "There is a lot of familiarity in the act of capturing per se, but there’s something joyous and special about being able to take a moment and honour it through paint."

Cochrane’s figurative scenes often include phones, symbolising both their role in preserving special moments and their tendency to pull us away from the present. Her still life compositions further explore digital consumption and the excess of photo-taking, intentionally composed to mimic the stiffness of Instagram’s square format.

In a nod to modern technology's flaws, Cochrane incorporates the distortions caused by phone cameras into her paintings, subtly commenting on how technology distorts our perception of reality. This recalls the work of Cézanne, who prioritised composition over proportion—particularly evident in Cochrane’s bathing scenes—and whose influence can be seen in her approach.

It Won't Last Forever is a poignant meditation on memory, technology, and human experience. Melding the influence of Impressionist masters with modern consumerism and digital culture, Cochrane offers a profound commentary on the ephemeral nature of contemporary life. Her work also draws from Australian artist Grace Cossington Smith, who, like Cochrane, found inspiration in Impressionism, forming a sentimental connection between their artistic and personal journeys.

Through her nuanced brushwork, Cochrane captures the fleeting beauty of everyday moments, encouraging viewers to reflect on the impact of technology on our lives. In doing so, she not only honours the tradition of painting but redefines its relevance in today’s fast-paced, digital world.
