Students from all departments showcased their research at Palais Wenkheim on April 23, 2019 in the second Graduate Research Summit.
A student-organized conference, the Graduate Research Summit provides local students the opportunity to present their research on posters or in oral presentations. A Scientific Committee consisting of faculty members at WVPU judged their abstracts and decided upon the winners. Congratulations to Suzanne Preston-Mroz and Samuil Pavlevchev (both students of the Psychology department) who won the top prizes in the oral presentations and posters respectively, and Keaton Gallaher and Debora Aberstury (both students of the International Relations department) who earned second place in the respective categories.

A primer is a brief guide to preparing and delivering an oral presentation. Case Western Reserve University started a program called SAGES (Seminar Approach to General Education and Scholarship) where students acquire knowledge and analytical skills to solve problems, as well as the power to articulate their ideas effectively in both speech and writing. This primer is a brief and entertaining guide to helping students speak persuasively, whether in the classroom, or in the real-world.
