The Toronto, Grey & Bruce Railway was the first rail operator to arrive in Owen Sound. The Owen Sound branch drove straight north from Fraxa Junction and arriving in Owen Sound by 1873. There, TG&B completed a simple station but expansion would start in 1884 when Ontario & Quebec (Canadian Pacific) took over the line constructing an extensive harbour facility with silos and docks. CPR would replace the original station in the late 19th or Early 20th Century during their modernization program, but in 1946 in an effort to show a modern side they replaced with an International or Deco styled station with curved roof lines and a low profile, passenger service ended in the 1970s and all railway operations ceased in 1995. Today it is fully restored and is a restaurant and brewery named Mudtown Station.

A year ago I first visited the abandoned lime quarry at Cocking. Returning today I did a bit more investigating, starting with this one of 2 discarded Ruston-Bucyrus excavators in the quarry itself. I felt the same eerie sense of isolation as I did the first time, a feeling like your being watched.
