This ha-ha would have stopped animals such as cattle approaching the original mansion without obscuring the view with something as vulgar as a wall!

This was a bonus covered bridge. The rest were taken a couple days before on a day reserved for visiting covered bridges. This was a late entry during a day reserved for driving north on Route 7, visiting The Clark Institute, and then taking the scenic route 2 back east. We barely fit it into the day's itinerary.

Looking west along East Grinstead's High Street. Not the best weather for my first visit. One hell of a sky though.

The Tunnel House Inn - a casualty of the COVID-19 pandemic as it's now closed. Near Coates, Cotswolds.

Our neighbours Chanel, son Marcus and daughter Vanessa, with their special eclipse glasses.

The solar eclipse occurred today with a heavy cloud cover obscuring the pivotal moment of total darkness of the sun. The northern edge of the path of totality was located about 30 km to the south of our neighbourhood over Lake Ontario. As a result we only got glimpses of the moon covering up the sun through he clouds. In a way it was OK as I hadn't prepared my cameras to take pictures of the solar eclipse with a clear sky. So I got shots with the brightness of the sun lessened by the cloud cover.

To lead in to our upcoming trip to Cape Breton this fall I am posting some pictures of our East Coast trip in the late 1980's to early 1990's. I am not exactly sure about the right date. This photo, and a few photos to follow, is of the last days of the Iona Ferry C Monty MacMillan before the building of the Grand Narrows Highway bridge which officially opened in 1993.

The poppies were a bit too old for this image. I couldn't get them to stand up fully. To fix this, I simply hung each flower upside down from a background stand. A sheet of pink poster board that was very over-exposed near the flower blossoms finished the lighting.

50 Focus Shift Images each with a 32-image pixel shift were captured in camera. Each of the pixel-shift images were combined and then exported as a 16-bit TIF (1.09GB) each of the 50 TIFs were then brought onto Helicon Soft stacking software. The software automatically stacked the TIFs into a single file that had the desired part of the frame in focus. That stacked image was brought into Photoshop for resizing and final adjustments.

The end of the Old Forest Rd with the A329M on the left. This road is now a cul de sac since the building of the motorway extension of the M4. This L-shaped section will be left alone but 500m or so back, a new road will veer off through new housing estates exiting near the large roundabout between Bracknell & Wokingham. The other end runs parallel to the M4 & joins the Wokingham to Reading road just before Winnersh.
