So, this vig is that old that I've completely forgotten why I built it :p It's definitely been a few month now. I already took it apart too, so don't bother with Criticism. I guess I took pictures and scrapped it for my Bastogne vig or something.
I think it started as a project between me and Captain Faie again on a 24x24 base regarding the 101st paratrooper's climb to Hitler's top secret bunker known as the Eagle's Nest. Ah well, enjoy!
Strawberry Shortcake, Blueberry Muffin, and Lemon Meringue check on the eggs in the nest.
These are foam eggs I hot glued into this nest that fell from a tree a few years ago. I use it as a porch decoration with my birdhouses.
No time for setting up anything for dolls and these girls were handy so decided to snap a few pics on the porch.
These dolls are my childhood toy replacements. I played with all 3 extensively as a kid. Happy memories. I love their chunky feet and rubbery shoes and they still smell good. :)
for the challenge "sea deep" i make a diorama named NESTED CHEST, for this composition : elephant hide paper : 50/70 for the wreck , 10 cm for the cannon , don' t remember for the skeleton , and a 15/15 basic paper for the ray
Grey Fantail. Rhipidura alisteri
Excited to discover Grey Fantails nesting in a big Banksia just over the fence, I stumbled across the nest when trying to clear weeds. Saw 3 little eggs but quickly left them so that I didn't disturb them anymore than I already had.
I found this nest on an a very small isolated island. The mother retreated before I could identify it. Given that most birds already have their chicks starting to fly I would speculate these failed to hatch but mother instinctively tried to hatch them out.
Orioles make sock-like nests that hang from branches. While they can be nearly impossible to spot among the leaves, spring is a great time to spot nests of all types.

The wren's eggs hatched, I think on Friday. This photo was taken Saturday morning. I stood on a stool across the carport and zoomed over so I would be at a distance from the nest and hopefully not bother them too much.
Here was the first picture of the nest, after the first egg had hatched, 3 days earlier, so maybe these hatched Thursday.
Carolina Wren
Alexandria, VA
Rode my bike through downtown Houston today photographing concrete textures. Came upon this fallen nest.
We spotted this American robin nest with four nestlings silently sleeping.

© David K. Edwards. The termite nest rears up over the veldt like a giant cobra! And it may be too late to call Terminix®!
You'll be pleased to know, I didn't steal a birds nest, I made it. The quail eggs came from the supermarket.
Taken at Horseshoe Lake State Fish & Wildlife Area.
This eagle's nest is located at Horseshoe Lake State Fish & Wildlife Area. Horseshoe Lake is an oxbow lake in Alexander County, Illinois. The lake is a shallow isolated remnant of a large meander of the Mississippi River near the southern tip of Illinois.
During the Great Flood of 1993 the river tried to shift back to the Horseshoe Lake meander, but returned to its modern channel after the flood subsided. Much of the lake resembles a swamp or bayou. This is the northernmost part of the natural range of the Bald cypress and Tupelo trees, which are found on the shoreline of the lake. Another tree found here is the swamp cottonwood.
The lake is a refuge for numerous waterfowl and other birds, including the American Bald Eagle.
