I rigged a NERF Vulcan/Havok Fire EBF-25 up so that its firing could be controlled by computer, then used the motion detecting software 'motion' for linux to have the gun fire when it detects the door opening.
The gun itself has three chained ammo belts, for a total of 74 shots, and a 12.6V lipo battery instead of the 9V D-cell battery pack it would use stock. The firing mechanism is an Arduino driving a servo connected to some pencils to pull the trigger, and there's a Logitech C300 webcam on the gun to source video. The laptop itself also plays sound files from Portal turrets when motion is detected or stops being detected. Check out www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrWUhVeEcHk for video!
Replaced stock barrel with 1/2" pvc at stock barrel length. Fires stock darts up to 100 feet, but it shreds them.

My lad bought himself a Nerf gun today. My daughter's expression after shooting it appeals rather a bit. It was too noisy to leave in colour. :-/
Takumar Bayonet 28mm 1:2.8 at f/2.8 I think.

So I bought this a couple of months ago with the intentions to turn it into a steampunk pistol.
That didn't pan out so well so I turned it into a Sci-Fi pistol! Nothing too fancy, a bit of snading and moulding here and there. I am very tempted and a scope and a longer barrel but I am happy with the way it is so far!
Happy birthday Xiad!
When you deliver the cake and are greeted by a mum in full camo gear, you know this is a serious Nerf Gun party!
Well done mum (Leiah) :)
A marble mud and chocolate mud inside, with layers of chocolate and cookies 'n cream buttercream!
I heard the kids demolished this cake quicker than the photographer to could get evidence ;)

-A blowgun I constructed out of PVC pipe/fittings, a bit of duct tape, and a water bottle (for the shoulder stock.)
-Although it may look somewhat gold, the spray paint I used was actually brass colored.
-With the homemade darts I use, I can ranges of about 40 feet consistently (I can get nearly a hundred with a 'NERF' 'tagger' dart 0_0.) For more info, view the related photo in my photostream.
-Anyway, this gun features a handle (approximate center), removable shoulder stock (bottom right), removable monopod (bottom left), and an approximately four foot barrel (top left to middle right)

I disassembled this Barricade a bit (not all the way!) to see how much space is inside for 'additions'.

Nerf Tornado Strike supersoaker. Nicely weathered, looks like something out of Warhammer 40k or Gears of War. I used satin black and wine red acrylic spray paints.
