Eagle show year 3 - here we go!!! Get ready for some eagle shots, hopefully whale shots, and maybe white sided dolphin shots? I’m excited to be heading back out on the water tomorrow with Stan and Stuart with Coastal Workshops and Jenn with Wildwaterways Adventures to the annual Eagle Show off Jimmy Judd Island. Last year (when this shot was taken), I was able to go out three days, but this year it’s just two for me. If you get the chance to head up to Campbell River - hurry before it is over. It is quite the experience!

Humpback Whale Breach sequence shot 4. How quickly this whale turned to its side getting it’s full body out of the water. I have close cropped a bit on this to give you the feel of the sideways shot and joy of jumping!

Gotta send props to Stuart @questforwildlife and Stan @stan_novotny_wildlife for this amazing three day photography clinic!

As promised… this little guy wasn’t content to just wade in that cold river, he decided to go all in! Here is a shot of him coming out followed by him telling Joe, “That made my head hurt, Dad”! I bet. Haha

Are You Watching?

After several seconds underwater fishing (much longer than I can hold my breath), this guy came up for a breath and looked around. He looked directly at all of us in the tower and it felt like he was a kid asking us if we were still watching.

💙 @randmama - Kate this is for you!

"I love visiting museums in smaller communities. They really are a labour of love and provide such a friendly intimate experience. The volunteers at the Qualicum Beach Museum were not only a wealth of information about the museum but had lots to tell about Qualicum Beach itself - both its past and even where to find a good lunch today!" - Leona Matte, 2012 myPQB Story Contest
