He is a Member of the ASEAN Consultative Committee on Standards and Quality (ACCSQ). He is an Adjunct Professor at University Utara Malaysia. In 1994, he was conferred the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) Award for Contribution to the Promotion of Exports to Japan and Doctor of Engineering from University Tenaga Nasional. In 1996, He received the Institution of Engineers Malaysia Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Engineering Profession. He is a registered Professional Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia, a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers Malaysia and a Founding Fellow of the Malaysian Academy of Science. YBhg. Tan Sri Datuk Dr. Bin Ali is a graduate of the Harvard Business School's Advanced Management Programme in 1994, Advance Management Programmes in the Australian Administrative Staff College and was conferred the Doctor of Science (Honorary) Degree by University Putra Malaysia in 2000. He received his B.Sc. Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering from King's College, University of London in 1973 and his Ph.D. in Nuclear Engineering from Queen Mary College, University of London in 1977. In 2008, he was conferred the Honorary Doctor of Engineering degree by Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN).

La buhardilla ocupa un espacio de 600 m cuadrados y en ellas vivian la servidumbre del palacio compuesto por unas 8 personas.
El estado actual de la buhardilla y los objetos que en ella se encuentrran están tan cual fueron dejados por sus últimos inquilinos.
