My previous attempt at a Mt. Fuji shot from the air:
So very lucky to see Mount Fuji in all it`s glory, affectionately called by the Japanese as the "Shy Mountain" or "Peek a Boo Mountain" as it`s very often shrouded in cloud.
Mount Fuji located on the island of Honshū, is the highest mountain in Japan, with a summit elevation of 3,776.24 m (12,389 ft 3 in). It is the second-highest volcano located on an island in Asia (after Mount Kerinci on the island of Sumatra), and seventh-highest peak of an island on Earth. Mount Fuji is an active stratovolcano that last erupted from 1707 to 1708. The mountain is located about 100 km (62 mi) southwest of Tokyo and is visible from there on clear days. Mount Fuji's exceptionally symmetrical cone, which is covered in snow for about five months of the year, is commonly used as a cultural icon of Japan and it is frequently depicted in art and photography, as well as visited by sightseers, hikers and mountain climbers.

Mt. Fuji Station (富士山駅) is a railway station on the Fujikyuko Line in the city of Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi, Japan, operated by the private railway operator Fuji Kyuko (Fujikyu). The station is located at an altitude of 809 metres (2,654 ft). This is one of the gateway stations to Mount Fuji and Fuji Five Lakes, including Lake Kawaguchi and Lake Yamanaka.
Mt. Fuji Station is served by the 26.6 km (16.5 mi) privately operated Fujikyuko Line from Ōtsuki to Kawaguchiko, and lies 23.6 kilometres (14.7 mi) from the terminus of the line at Ōtsuki Station.
The station is a terminus station where trains reverse en route between Ōtsuki and Kawaguchiko, this means for through trains heading towards either destinations, the driver is required to change ends to head back out before diverging onto the appropriate route. It consists of three bay platforms. It has waiting rooms and toilet facilities. The station is staffed.

One of the Highlights for me for sure were the conditions we had at sunrise at Mount Fuji.. It was perfect.

Small mountain in Japan that kind of resembles Mt. Fuji. It is in Gunma prefecture at it's largest lake.

Mount Fuji is one of Japan's "Three Holy Mountains" (三霊山, Sanreizan) along with Mount Tate and Mount Haku. It is a Special Place of Scenic Beauty and one of Japan's Historic Sites. It was added to the World Heritage List as a Cultural Site on June 22, 2013. According to UNESCO, Mount Fuji has "inspired artists and poets and been the object of pilgrimage for centuries". UNESCO recognizes 25 sites of cultural interest within the Mount Fuji locality. These 25 locations include the mountain and the Shinto shrine, Fujisan Hongū Sengen Taisha.
