Bust portrait of Antonia Minor (January 36 BC - 37 AD).
She was the younger of two daughters of Mark Antony and Octavia, the sister of Augustus.
In 17 AD, she married Nero Claudius Drusus, or Drusus the elder, brother of Tiberius and son of the first marriage of Livia, the wife of Augustus.
From this marriage three children were born: Claudia Livilla, Claudius, the future Roman Emperor, Germanicus, designed by Augustus as his successor. For the Julio-Claudian dynasty family tree see the item Stemma Drusorum
Antonia minor was a woman of rare beauty and great virtue (Plutarch). She died in 37 AD to the time of Caligula, and, according to Suetonius’ accounts, she received “post mortem” from his son, the emperor Claudius, the title of Augusta.
Here Antonia is portrayed in the guise of Venus and the bust is considered an idealized posthumous work: during Claudius’ principate, in fact, the imperial propaganda assimilated Antonia to the goddess "Venus Genetrix", the legendary founder of the Julio-Claudian dynasty.

A 1967 registered Morris Minor. I don't think the "nose job" is original, I've never seen that radiator grille configuration on a Minor before.

Now, I've already told you that this seemed to be a rather tame year. But it wasn't as calm as this. Here, you see the scene about twenty or thirty minutes after the doors opened. I was too busy scavenging through the shelves and weaseling out the bargains to be taking pictures.
In fact, the D80 was capped and safely zipped inside my jacket. Historically, the You-Do-It-Sale is an excellent place to break an expensive thingamabob that you foolishly carried in on your person.
I've been entertaining you kids with some of my more colorful experiences at this sale over the years, but in truth this year's wasn't nearly so frenetic. "Wow," I said, in mid-scavenge. "I actually have time to say 'excuse me, please' and 'thank you'!"
For those of you who are eagerly following the Nikon D80 story. I tried something new here: I just left the damned thing on full-Auto and allowed the camera to make all of the decisions. It was a trust exercise.
I like the results, but if this situation comes up again I think I'll override the ISO decision. If I were shooting at 400 ISO the flash would have been able to penetrate through the scene a little better.
