There are tens and hundreds of reeds on the water. None of them is in exactly the same length or shape compared to the others.
There is the beauty of diversity. We are all different.
Whatever you name it i.e. diversity, multiplicity, pluralism. All these do not create conflict.
On the other hand it is the opposing force that is trying to enforce the same standard on people, asking them to buy the same product, to worship the same God, to have same kinds of habit etc, will cause troubles and issues in the world.
And we will not forget diversity is the basis of evolution process in our life system. Let’s celebrate the diversity!
Have a great Thursday!
This is another minimalism shot in Steveston on Chinese New Year’s Day.

*I really like #minimalism shots in games and real life photography where the focus is one small key element and the rest of the composition is completely clutter free. You'll be surprised at how powerful these shots can be.

En contadas ocasiones los vemos o, mejor, los intuimos. Están ahí, al otro lado, tenues, delicados, efímeros, atentos a nuestras idas y venidas, a nuestros devaneos de cada día.

Bryce Canyon is a very noisy place geologically speaking - the hoodoos are very densely packed with random shaps and sizes that it's all hard to take in, and trying to capture its essense in picture is quite hard.
Reviewing the pictures I took to try take it all in they're just too noisy and don't let the viewer take anything in. I like this minimal shot of the side of the canyon, as it focusses on just one aspect of Bryce to try make it understandable.
Perhaps this says more about me as an engineer vs artist that I'd care to admin - wtrying to make the world understandable, catch it at its minimal, is also what I find makes for a good picture?
You know how when you're composing a scenic landscape at sunset, you tweak and poke and curse until your lens is positioned for minimal shot-ruining flare, unless you have a magical lens that never flares ever?
I did the exact opposite here. Every lens I've ever tried flares differently, and with a bucketload of new gear as of December, I've been seeing what new things I can do. This Tamron wide-angle creates jaw-dropping flare circles, apparently. And all it took was adjusting the angle until I found a full-on ring of fire.
Okay, but full disclosure, I didn't particularly set out to match a certain vision. Like a lot of my solo expeditions, I was just messing around. Even in editing I found myself testing various filters going "That could work...oh, that too...this is hard, I can't decide" until I settled on a heavily modded version of the Tijuana Movie Looks preset in onOne Perfect Effects with a rice paper texture overlay. Which, ironically, completely blew out the sun I had been very careful to bracket and preserve while shooting. But that's okay because I love it. Bring on the apocalypse!
Anyway, I've been taking a break from Flickr over the last couple months but I'll do my best to get back into regular uploads. I promise I have lots to share and many upcoming adventures, so stay with me, friends!
Hold Me Close
Hold me close, under the sunset
and let Gods reds and oranges soothe your eyes,
like this is all a dream.
Hold me close, under the sunset.
You can kiss my neck a little, if you like.
Or better yet, walk my silk shirt off my shoulders.
Hold me close, under the sunset
and hear me chuckle as you do the same-
staring deep into my eyes.
Hold me close, under the sunset
in the middle of the park.
I don’t mind; with you it could be anywhere.
Hold me close, under the sunset.
Scream for me, scream for me
and light me up like all those years ago.
Hold me close, under the sunset-
I whisper to you as you close your eyes.
You’ve probably passed out…
never mind;
You won’t remember me, next time I slip something in your drink.

Yesterday I met Dave ( www.flickr.com/photos/nldazuu/ ) in Almere. He was overthere to make some blue hour images.
I joined him, but pffff......
A big smile on my face, because last Sunday he had trouble shooting abstract images, and now I had trouble shooting. Too many issues I don't want to see on an image ( trees, houses), it wasn't minimalism. I made some minimalism shots, but no.....
But never the less I want to share this one with you.
So nice to see everybody has his/her own comfortzone. And... it's great going out of your own comfortzone, try something new :-)
Estabas ahí, sentada, recogida, con una cierta melancolía bonancible; reposada y con un hilo de sonrisa perdido en el azul de tu estancia.

A very minimal shot of comet C/2011 L4 PANSTARRS from this past March. People used to fear comets, thinking they were signs about what the future might bring. I've been thinking about this shot for a while, but only recently did I come up with this minimalist style processing. I've another shot with a bright, crescent moon above the comet I'm working, too. Maybe it's a harbinger for this stream ...

I hope this works for this week's subject and it is my hotel bed in Glasgow. The picture is to convey the minimalistic approach to being away from home stripped of personal paraphernalia.
Hello everyone! I'm back from my vacation which I spent going to weddings in Virginia, Rhode Island, and spending the remaining time on Cape Cod. I watched Ted Kennedy's motorcade pass by on Route 3 from Hyannis en route to the JFK Library in Boston, and Karyn and I made unplanned stops on our trip to Williamsburg in Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. We visited friends in Baltimore, and I've had a great time over the last 4 weeks. But it's now time to put the seatbelt back on and settle back in to my place in Boston.
The clouds sure were crazy that day back in July. I have posted a couple of pictures I took on that evening already, and links (and thumbnails) are shown below in the comments field. I didn't really like the clouds at the time, but they sure made for some interesting shots.
While the timing of posting shot was not intended, I just realized that this shot was taken on Boston's "World Trade Center Avenue" next to the WTC's Boston location near the seaport in South Boston. Such a sad day in our nation's history, and we will always remember the thousands of heroes from that day.

I took these minimal shots in Oldenburg today, which are inspired by leontjew. I learned a lot by watching his great stream.

Felt the need for a minimal shot of the Atlantic today, I loved the light on the water on this particular evening.
Have a goods day my friends!
Its nicer on black,,,,,,,,,,,,,
While skipping through Fantasyland I saw this really cool lonely cloud in the sky. I stopped whistling Zip A Dee Doo Da, raised my camera and just before I pushed the shutter button, saw the top of Sleeping Beauty's Castle in the bottom of my view finder. I wanted a minimalism shot of the really cool lonely cloud in the sky so I lowered my camera and skipped along to find a better view point with no obstructions. I walked out to Main Street USA, raised the camera, focused and there it was again, leaning into view, one of the flags waving in the wind. Lowering the camera once again, I jogged over to Tomorrowland. I raised the camera yet again, looked through the view finder and just as I was about to push the shutter button, I swear I saw the Castle slowly creep into the shot from above. I dropped the camera around my neck and ran over to Toontown, pointed the camera skyward towards the cool lonely cloud and clicked the button. There it was, on the right side of the shot smiling, Sleeping Beauty's Castle. I sprinted over to Adventureland at full speed. Flinging my camera up to my eye, I looked around in all directions and saw no Castle insight, I focused on the cool lonely cloud, smashed the shutter button and heard a very quiet little voice say cheese. I looked down at the photo on my camera, lowered my head, wept, mumbled zip a dee doo da and with hunched shoulders, dragged myself around the rest of the day, defeated.
View on Black or Sleeping Beauty's Castle will smack you with one of her turrets

Obviously not a real one! This started out as a minimal shot for 7DOS 'Yellow' theme but the minimal part got lost along the way so I figured it'll make a nice macro instead. It's a Lemon Bakewell tart with the focus on a candy lemon in the centre.
So, people who know me also know that I love animals and a dark edit of photos. Here I combined both. I saw this really tired horse in Whitby (England) and thought I might want to take a picture to remember the situation. So I did that. But the background of this area was not so nice or at least nothing I wanted to leave in the pic. Then back home I decided to edit this photo and make something more interesting out of it. I came along with my "typical" dark edit and now I really like this one. What do you think about it? Too dark? Too minimal?
