The biennial Farnborough Airshow took place in July 2018 and as normal the Hampshire town was flooded with visitors the show.
The weekend public days meant the addition of 16 buses operating the Park & Ride service from the Eelmoor and Rushmoor car parks into the airshow site. Once again the service was provided by buses from the Bluestar and Metrobus fleets.

Another bus you would never see on route 434. There is absolutely no chance of it being able to fit! Metrobus Scania OmniCity 564 (YN08OAW) is seen in Croydon Garage blinded for route 434. I was suprised to see the 434 on the blind selection settings, as when changing the blind on 567 last time, I did not spot it on the system. But it turns out these buses have the same blinds as the 434's E200's 189-192. Unfortunately, the front number blind had been deactivated so was stuck on route 293, the rest of the blinds worked!

Cardiff, as I've mentioned before, had another of those bus stations which seemed to be in a constant state of flux. I don't think I can remember visiting when there wasn't some form of chopping and changing going on.
Newport Transport had been busy cultivating an enthusiastic relationship with Swedish manufacturer Scania. Through the latter's involvement with British body-builder MCW they'd placed their proverbial foot in the door with the Metro-Scania and the Metropolitan collaborations. It was therefore reasonable that Newport might try MCW's 'go it alone' 'decker, the Metrobus when it entered production. Here is JBO 81W, newly acquired looking resplendent in the operator's wonderfully tasteful colour scheme about to work back east to it's home town from the Welsh capital.
