Great to see this again! Metrobus Scania OmniCity DD 955 (YR58SNY) is seen in Croydon Garage on a route 293 spreadover duty. I still remember seeing this bus when it came back from refurbishment back in July, this time, it has a brand new set of blinds.

M1442 was the second of two MkII Metrobuses purchased by London Transport as part of the Alternative Vehicle Trials in 1984. There was supposed to be a third vehicle which would in effect have been a MkIII Metrobus but this was never delivered.
The bus is seen at Trafalgar Square on the 170 service which hosted the trial vehicles.
For the record the other vehicles used in the AVE trials were trios of Leyland Olympians, Dennis Dominators and Volvo Ailsas...........but you already knew that, didn't you?

Northern Counties bodied MCW Metrobus 5305 heads towards Earlestown whilst bound for Liverpool on the long lost direct service from Manchester, a journey that now requires three different buses!
The vehicle in question was a new type for Atherton depot, and indeed the West area of Greater Manchester as this part of the conurbation had never operated Metrobuses from new. This was one of three transferred from Queens Road depot when the 34 went to half hourly. 5318/9 were the other two, though their stay at Atherton was brief. They moved onto Bolton who then quickly moved them on to Queens Road, the depot whence they had originally arrived.
