I have been in a rather dark mood here recently. And during this week, I was listening to the music that I have a link to above on Youtube. I find Secession Studios music to be so emotional...And it brought to my mind a particular statue that I have in SL. So then I was frantically rummaging through my SL inventory....and once I found "Lady of Death"-- I quickly rezzed her... and this is what my mind saw.....

This Reddish Egret shows how successful his method of fishing is. It is called canopy feeding where he raises his wings to create shade which attracts fish. Just when you think you are following his moves, he changes direction or jumps in the air so they are very difficult to photograph. I couldn't get enough of these beauties. Taken in Estero, Florida.
Thank you for your visit and comments. They are very much appreciated.

The Brenizer method, sometimes referred to as bokeh panorama or bokehrama, is a photographic technique characterized by the creation of a digital image exhibiting a shallow depth of field in tandem with a wide angle of view. Created by use of panoramic stitching techniques applied to portraiture, it was popularized by photographer Ryan Brenizer.
The combination of these characteristics enables a photographer to mimic the look of large format film photography with a digital camera. Large format cameras use a negative that is at least 4×5 inches (102×127 mm) and are known for their very shallow depth of field when using a wide aperture and their unique high level of clarity, contrast and control. Image sensor formats of common digital cameras, in comparison, are much smaller, ranging down to the tiny sensors in camera phones. The Brenizer method increases the effective sensor size of the camera, simulating the characteristics of large format photography.
While the aesthetics of this form of imaging most closely resemble large format analog photography, its look has also led it to being compared to tilt shift photography. Both techniques create images that exhibit an unusually shallow depth of field.

Messier 8 (M8), also known as the Lagoon Nebula, is a large, bright emission nebula located in the constellation Sagittarius. The star-forming nebula has an apparent magnitude of 6.0 and lies at a distance of 4,100 light years from Earth. It has the designation NGC 6523 in the New General Catalogue.
The Lagoon Nebula is currently undergoing a period of active star formation and has already formed a sizable cluster of stars. NGC 6530, the extremely young open cluster formed from the material of M8, has a visual magnitude of 4.6 and covers an area of 14 arc minutes in the sky. It is centred in the eastern part of the nebula.

Straight from Central Cats-ing? :-)
At first, I honestly thought this cat was simply a cardboard cutout and couldn't believe my luck when I saw he/she was real and not just part of the decorations, ha ha. And only on zooming in to crop, did I see 'that look' :-) I wonder if he/she is on contract to sit just like that for the next 3 weeks - being paid in yummy crunchies by the looks of it :-)
(Slight pun re 'lucky' timing, since I've personally always thought a black cat brings GOOD luck not bad.)
I always struggle with photography on bright, sunny days. So recently, I decided to address this issue which needed an adjustment in my approach. My decision was to work on focus stacking and getting the camera much closer to the foreground. These rocks were merely 10cm from the front element of the lens so I needed to take 7 shots in total to get everything as pin sharp as possible all the way through the image. Blending was still trick and there are small mistakes but I think I am pleased with the final result nonetheless. Taken on the coastline of Portknockie in Morayshire, Scotland.
Had this guy done for a month but never posted it. The helmet is a modified Ant-Man helmet with strips of plastic attached to the sides for the antennae. The gauntlets are made of the same plastic and the glove tops are made using the JerdFigs method.

WIT: I wanted to try the Pep Ventosa method of photo processing - it's where you use several images taken at slightly different angles, up to 360 degrees, and then stack them together in layers in Photoshop. Using different types of treatments, like overlay and screen in the different layers, and masking in and out certain parts in the different layers, I came up with this abstraction of a street statue of ballet dancers.

China, Shanghai, Xitang, a traditional fishing method in rivers is cormorant fishing in which fishermen use trained cormorants. A noose is tied near the base of the bird's throat to control the birds, they can swallow smaller fish, but it prevents the birds from swallowing larger fish, which are held in their throat.
Has a cormorant caught a fish in its throat, the fisherman brings the bird back to the boat & has the bird spit the fish up. Even so the ones in China & Japan successful cormorant fishing industry, today's purpose of cormorant fishing is primary an attraction to entertain tourists.
Xitang is one of the ancient water towns in the Yangtze Delta area in the north of Jiashan County, located about 140 km southwest of Shanghai. The town stretches across eight sections, linked by 104 historic stone bridges. In the older parts of town, the well-preserved buildings with "patina" are set along the banks of the canals, which serve as the main transportation thoroughfares in the area.
Entry fee about 10 € p/p, if you stay in one of the charming boutique hotels, they will reimburse you 50% of the entrance fee.
In the Xitang Water Village, there are well-preserved groups of buildings of the Ming Dynasty, 1368-1644 & the Qing Dynasty, 1644-1911, with relatively high artistic quality & research value. The village is famous for its large number of covered corridors, lanes & bridges.
Its history dates back to at least the spring & autumn period, 770 BC–476 BC, when it was located at the border of the State of Yue & Wu. According to legend, Wu Zixu, a well-known scholar & military general, ordered to dig many canals & a pond to facilitate water transportation & to channel water to Jiashan County, therefore Xitang is also called "Xutang".
In the Xitang Water Town, people who live there are not rich, so no newer modern houses have been built there. That's maybe one of the reasons why the old constructions are preserved as a whole almost without damage. In those archaic houses, besides the culture & value of the houses themselves, there are also displays of cultural relics or woodcarvings or eaves tiles collected by the house owner. To this day there are exhibitions of the ancient rare books of the owners passed down from generation to generation or rubbings from a stone inscription of a famous calligrapher.
On the roofs of some old houses here, the grass is about "one chi" tall, 33 cm ++, believing that the spirit of the former owner of the house joins with the grass, making it flourish & blessing the peace and durability of the house, as well as the prosperity of the entire town.
The "Mission Impossible III", 2005, movie featuring Tom Cruise scenes speeding with a bike over the roofs in Xitang, was leading to a boom of Xitang's popularity among tourists.
Because of the rainy climate, common ceilinged corridors have been created bordering the waterways. Each family roofs the stone-planked path in front of their house resulting in covered corridors of up to 1300 metres.

Nachdem ich im Internet ein tolles Foto mit mehreren Zebras, mit der ICM-Methode fotografiert, gesehen habe, wollte ich dies auch einmal versuchen. Hier das Ergebnis.
After seeing a great photo of several zebras photographed with the ICM method on the Internet, I wanted to try it myself. Here is the result.
My first bake from Chainbaker videos I've been watching the past few weeks.
I was all excited to try it and followed instructions and measurements exactly.
My sister declared the loaf "epic" from this photo of it ... but, ... a couple of hours after this..the crust looked all wrinkly...and, the inside was a disaster. I was almost too embarrassed to show it... but, it's always an experiment with bread it seems.
And, so, in the interest of science ...I show my disaster in the photo beside this one.
The crust is pretty much detached from the crumb... a huge air space showed up about 2/3 of the way into the loaf.
Such a disappointment.
The only redeeming feature in my mind is the flavour and actual texture of the crumb.
Amazing really. It makes great toast... but, don't try putting on anything where that gaping hole is... it'll dribble right through....
oh, well.... there's always next time...... and, next I'm doing the Cheesy buns...... can't go wrong with cheese and buns....
Wild Pacific salmon reefnet fishing is an historical Pacific Northwest fishing method- the oldest known salmon net fishery in the world. Once practiced throughout the Salish Sea by its many indigenous peoples, reefnet fishing now exists only off Lummi Island.
