Mesijeov maraton - Letenka 2023

My first astrophotos! OK, not quite -- these were more of a team effort, taken during an 'induction' session at the Guildford Astronomical Society observatory.

 

Both of these photos were about 15 x 30 second exposures combined. Taken with a Starlight Express SXV-H9 CCD through an 80mm William Optics refractor.

 

No flat fields were taken (as you can see from the dust spots!), but it was nice to see how straight forward the imaging process is.

This is Messier object 15, a globular cluster in the constellation Pegasus. It's about 33,600 light years from Earth.

Messy pallet - Jane suggested I add more darks to give depth to pallett. May do that and re-scan it...
