Tree Leaf with rain drops. The goal was to magnify the color and pattern of the leaf through the drop.
Last week I spoke of how I loved the way Lords and Ladies emerges from a spiral tube so you can imagine how happy I was to find one covered in rain droplets. Light was terrible but the water was perfect.

This image is so "busy," that it almost makes me uncomfortable. But it has a detailed and complex beauty.
The jagged edges of the petals and deep perspective give this gorgeous flower a slightly aggressive feel.
Today was a little dark so the flash was out but due to the cloud cover, the temps were a little higher and that brought out this fly! It's great when something like this happens as it adds an extra element to the scene.
The National Garden Bureau has selected the beautiful dahlia as the bulb of the year. Dahlia is a genus of tuberous plants that are members of the Asteraceae family; related species include the sunflower, daisy, chrysanthemum, and zinnia. They grow from small, brown, biennial tubers planted in the spring.
